I do something with my guitar. I aint sure if i'd call it playing though.
More of a savage beating of strings and a completely un-coordinated attempt to get the chords write.

I'm learning to scratch & use mixers with a little synth euro style on the side. I just met a few people on campus with the gear and I seriously suck at it :( Scratching looks so much easier than it really is...
...if these count as musical instruments...
if not I play a kazoo....

Finally, a guy that plays the flute! Never see 'em around here.

I also play the flute for the school concert band. It sucks, because it's boring, and we have a lot of playing test, which I always get nervous for and screw up. ~_~ Marching band looks like fun, but the summer band camp has to suck, and probably isn't worth the time, although I'll ask a few of the marching band members at the end of the year if it was worth it for them.

Oh, I see how it is. :p
When we tried out instruments in 6th grade, I was really hoping to play percussion, but the percussion instruments weren't in the room, and stupid me didn't think to ask about it, so I went with the flute. I really regret it, lol. It's still a pretty instrument. It just got a little boring for me to play after a while. >.>

Sheesh...The only thing I know how to use is my voice, other than that, I'm useless. Sure, I tried learning to play the piano, but the lessons just didnt work out and I quit.
Before my voice broke I could use it to imitate various instruments. Lol, I can still remember the time when we were learning to sing in school and suddenly the sound of the flute could be heard. The teacher thought it was a ghost and she shrieked out of the room (Typical Old Types).
Of course, upon investigation, I had to write a 500 word essay to apologise to the teacher...

Over my life I have picked up songs on many an instrument, I know simple stuff on the flute, trumpet, xylophone, guitar and strangely harp. I've learned some more complex stuff on Drums, bass guitar and the Piano. I'm actually learning how to play a church organ. (It's really difficult with all the bloody pedals)

The only instrument I've ever tried playing and kept at it was the harmonica. O.o; I would love to learn to play the fiddle, though.
I've learned to play the piano and trombone. But I no longer practice either of these instruments. But I still have a soft spot for Beethoven, Moonlight Sonata anyone? What I am doing is singing. Though it's not a physical instrument, it's an instrument of the voice.

Well, I'm no pro but I can play the piano and the flute a little...
I studied the flute for almost 4 years when i was a kid... but then I stoped and forgot most of it!
You see, I sing (I'm a soprano) at USP's (University of São Paulo) choir and I know some music notation, which helped me learning how to play some things in the piano... but that's just about what I can do.
Well, I can pretty much say that my main musical instrument is my voice. I'm not saying I'm a pro ... but... it's the only instrument I really know how to use. People say I'm good at it... I hope they are right! ;)

I can play the violin, did that also many and many and many years. But I stopped it a time ago, If I have really the time I would play again tho. I can play organ. Learning guitar and it goes great, half in my book already and just played 3 times. LOL ^-^ Oh, and flute in school. ^^"
And I also sing. That isn't really a instrument, but they count it along with it. ^_^
Music is so much fun. I started loving it when I was 5 years, and then I started playing instruments, and I still love it as much as when I started. ^_^ I like it even more now! ^-^

Man, I'm astonished!
You guys know how to play a lot of instruments. And some of them aren't even the ordinary instruments, I mean, the drums and the guitar. Some of you play the violin which is one of the most difficult instruments there is... and even the oboe... I'm ashamed to admit it but I envy you people.
I wonder how you all managed to learn so many... are you all musicians or you do it for fun!?!

You know... when I first entered USP choir, I thought about dropping college and starting my life as a singer/musician... but I guess I just wasn't brave enough to do it. I wasn't ready to try it then!
*ashamed look*
But anyway, if I ever get the chance to do it professionally now, I will grab the opportunity and go for it. I composed some songs and I'd love to show them to the world. Of course they are really personal, but I would do it anyway. :) (Take a look at the text under my sig... it's from one of my songs!)
There's only one thing that keeps me from recording these songs now... I need to learn how to play the guitar. That's one of my goals this year!

I play the flute for my high school band (and don't even START the band camp jokes -.- for your information, I've never even been to any band camps! ><). In the 5th grade we had to learn to play the recorder, and my friend taught me a little of the piano when I was younger. Though, if you asked me to play something on either of the last two, I'd give you a good "Mary Had a Little Lamb," but that'd be as far as I could go. =P

There's a few good Yamaha Drum Sets out there. Pearl is a good brand as well. You'll prabably want a full set, so here's what you need: Bass drum, 3 toms (2 on the bass drum and a floor tom), 1 snare drum, 1 crash cymbal, 1 ride cymbal, and a hi-hat. Hope that helps.
Master Blaster

Oh I knew what I needed for a complete set, I was think of getting maybe to crash symbols. I was more looking for brands, thanks for the tips though, the ones I played on it the summer were Pearl's but the Symbols were Saban or something with an S. I liked them. Some guy told me I should look for a bass drum with a good pedal so I can do double pumping easily. Are there special pedals for that?

I played the violin as a kid (about 7-10 years old or so) but quit when my little sister raced from zero past me in talent in just a couple of months
then I moved over to the acoustic guitar, played it until the age of 15 or so, then switched over to the electric guitar - to play skate-punk and stuff like that  - which I anyway quit at around age 18.
Nowadays i "play" my computer so I've been mostly fooling around with my MIDI keyboard (drawbar organ emulators rock!!!). I've still got some of my guitar talents left, and actually I've been fingering the electric bass at the audio workshop I'm attending for the moment.

I'm not sure about that. I might know already how to play some tunes in a electric guitars, from all the stuff that I learned from watching some music videos. Let me tell you a sad story:
My dream was to play drums. I was obssesed about it. I wanted to be either a Jazz drummer or one of those cool drummers from the 70's prog rock bands. Alas, my parents denied me the joy of drumming saying there was a better chance of me becoming a Tibetan monk than playing drums in the house. So I had to settle for Piano, Guitar, Flute (which I play terribly, since they were never something I wanted to play) and serving as both first and third voice in the school choir group (yes... I had that kind of vocal range).
Yet, I had the chance to enter a music club in college that had a drum teacher. I rejoiced and enrolled. Unfortunately, my college decided to take away the funding for the club, and never found a way to get back into drumming.
Now the only musical ability I have left is knocking on doors.

It's always been my dream to spend my life playing in a band but that's extremely unrealistic for me. I started play the guitar at the beginning of high school and self-taught my way to where I am now. I'm nothign special though unfortuantely, just average. Played in a band (<a href="http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Soaring_J/">SoaringJ</a>) with a few friends of mine until college sent people there various ways. :whine I've been toying around with the bass here and there too. Always wanted to learn piano but I think I'm a lost cause.
Here's to hoping more people keep playing as wel as posting links to download their music, I'm always looking for more new stuff.

I play saxohone. I used to also play clarinet in middle school, but I doubt I could do anything with one now.
I'm hoping my sax skills could land me in a ska band, but no luck so far...:(

Why so regretful about playing the violin?
Oh, right. On topic, I play the piono and violin. I haven't been playing long, but I like to think of myself as "not glass-shatteringly horrible".
The piano, violin, and snare and other percussion stuff.

I suck, my sister practices more than i ever did, my sister's better, and she's younger than me.
Mindless rant, I know.

I used to play the piano but stopped after a while. I've recently gotten more into the bass guitar but not so much as to join a band or anything. Also my ability to mimic voices have led me to a very successful karaoke career.

I've been playing the flute for awhile now. Very fun to play. People say it's easy but it's not easy well to me sometimes it's easy but if you need to trill notes especially high ones that you don't know the fingerings to that could make it hard. ummm you can't look at your fingers because it's sideways so if you make a mistake you won't be able to realize it until you blow in the instrument. But I love playing my flute oh so much cause I'm practicing The Great Locomotive chase along with some other cool songs.

I played the clarinet for a few years in grade school and the piano for 6 years. I currently sing in my high school choir in the Bass 1 voice range. Who said voice is not an instrument.

I swear I answered this question about 10 times already
anyway, I play a little bit of piano and guitar
I used to play the trombone but quit due to lack of interest and desire to learn Iaido(I was already doing Kempo and that wasn't a problem, but private lessons+Kempo+Iaido that would have been quite the expense(is that the word I'm looking for...? ah who cares)
But I don't regret it for second, besides if I really wanted to I could just pick up my bro's trombone and put my mouthpiece on it to play a couple of tunes (my bro did give me the sheet music for Hawaii 5-O when I was still in BAND I bet I could play it again :sly: )

Piano - I took lessons from age 6 to 14. It's safe to say i'm pretty good.
Bass Guitar - My gf (now ex gf) gave me lessons while we were going out in the summer + winter of 2000. I'm not that good.
Recorder - Everyone at my school was forced to learn to play it in 8th grade music class. I'm still pretty good at it too.
Clarinet - Played it in the school band for 5th and 6th grade.
Saxophone - Switched to in 7th grade band because the Clarinet was to girly for me. In addition to the band having to many clarinet players.
Eh....I used to play violin and my friend started showin me how to play the guitar. I now know the beginning to a S.O.A.D. called "Violent Pornography"! XD

I could play the violin for a bit, but I don't know if I can anymore because I haven't for awhile...plus I didn't really know very much when I was doing it XD;
I want to learn the piano soon.
I can also sing very well, or so I'm told, but I'm not sure about that.

Lets see...
I can play a bit of drums, a bit of the trumpet, a bit of the flute a bit of the piano, a bit of the guitar, a bit of harmonica and a bit of xylophone.
Never fully mastered any of them, though I can play a mean 'Oh Suzanna' on the harmonica.

I can play the tamborine...and I'm damn good at it.
The only musical instrument that I've practiced was acoustic guitar in grade 7 and part of 8. It was hard to play, since I was short, and it was a pain getting my arm all the way over the big guitar to pluck the strings. I could play the Superman song by the Crash Test Dummies. I think that's all that I can remember that I've played, and I don't think I would know how to play it now. I've had no practice since then.
I should grab my maracas and get good with them. Or play the tamborine with maracas. Good gravy, I'm smart.

I just learned how to play bass. I'm starting simple, like I learned Ramones staple Blitzkreig Bop and Song 2 by Blur. I'm working on some Sex Pistols but just you know any simple punk.
It's really to give me something other than drums to play. Makes it more fun to jam, being able to switch from instruments
