Oh, those where wonderfull parts. So funny, the beginning of that movie started before seasons1 (when they where little they where sooooo cute). Second part is between seasons 1 and 2. Then the other one is somewhere behind or during seasons 2. ^-^ But Izzy is cute in seasons 2. But Ken and Yamato still hotter, Taichi is handsome too. ^o^

well... i had been avoiding this thread only because everyone would already know what i would put in my post. So instead of directly answering the question that the threads title brings up.. i think i will go more in deapth and describe what i look for in female anime characters.

When the experienced otaku looks at a new anime series for the first time, several things go through their head before the anime is fully judged. These things might or might not include : type of story, number of main characters, quality of art, quality of voice acting, originality of plot, etc. But there is one thing that i am pretty sure they dont look for that i do.. the long black haired female secondary character (although secondary is not required). I do not necessarily require this character for a show to appeal to me, but her being in the series does make it a little more enjoyable. It started with a certain lady from Love Hina, and expanded into characters from I My Me Strawberry Eggs, and most recently Azumanga Daioh.

The Goddess Belldandy - Sweet, sweet, sweet. Designed to be near-perfect. Loving, caring, affectionate, polite, industrious, and anything that can't be done by hand can usually be done with a touch of Goddess magic. I would however be afraid she might not speak up about her own desires, being so intent on making her partner happy.

Yagami Hikari of Digimon - Kind and sassy, willing to talk through problems, great intuition, a sense of adventure balanced by sound reasoning. I love Hikari-chan, but I wouldn't trust her with that camera in our bedroom, she's way too shutter-happy.

Waya Yoshitaka of Hikaru no Go - The first thing that comes to mind is how utterly normal Waya is. No super powers, no quest to save the world, no special destiny. Yeah Motoko is a cool character I enjoyed her charater (one of the only good things about LH)

There are some cool female characters in I My Me, Fujio being my favorite. She was such an interesting character, and I enjoyed watching her. It was great to see her emotions in a lot of the scenes.
