So I'm in Nagoya and we're in the duration of Hanami, the cherry blossom viewing.

Unfortunately, the winds were not kind and blew too much too soon. There's a trip for it on tues but there's a 0% chance the blossoms will still be there, hence why I'll go today, Saturday.

Though I do wonder, the last time I went to Hanami (last year), it went by just as fast. Is Hanami really just a 1-2 week period before it's totally gone? It's such a shame that the cherry blossoms are blown away or die so quickly.

When I was Tokyo last year I was lucky to see it just starting. But I think about only 20% of the blossoms were in bloom at that time. I went to Kyoto for the day and nothing was in bloom yet.

Here are some pictures anyways they are all from Ueno Park (one of my favorite places in Tokyo)

It's one of my personal dreams to travel to Kyoto for Hanami. I'd also like to celebrate a Japanese New Year at a Jinja shrine and to attend a Japanese festival. Golden Week is interesting too. Man. The Japanese really believe in the idea of "Make every day a holiday", don't they?!! :D
