Bestest review evaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Ender if you're going to Tak again this year, I will buy you a pint/bottle of whatever your favorite alcoholic beverage is. Thanks for highlighting the awesomeness that is Gurren Lagann. :3

You know, I cannot remember the last time somebody mentioned one of my reviews in the forums. So if anything, thank you, Niner. ^_^
And yes, I will be at Tak Tak this year, so I'll be looking forward to that Bready Special. ^_~

Dang... if the actual anime was as epic as that review itself, then I think I'll need to watch this series (exaggerate much? :p).
Anyway, I thoroughly dig your final message. I think all too often these days, particularly with those who are too deep into the fandom, I'm seeing that the simple entertainment, the ones that don't explain how the world works ala Lain-esque, are being ignored. It's become easy to frown upon or even mock those who like to get some good old fashion rumble, the kind of stuff that got me in there to start with, all because you think you are better than that now.
Heh... excuse the commentary. I'm just highlighting the point that this is why you are still my favourite reviewer here.

You know, I have now been an AA Professor for four years now, and I still don't think I'm deserving of this much praise. Thanks Shino. ^_^
On a personal note, I think Gurren Lagann came at a good time. When I saw the first episode, I honestly thought I was not going to like it. This past year, I've been feeling rather distant from anime: real life constantly beats down between 9-5, my friends and I have been going our separate ways, and the anime club we started in college finally sank (stupid freshmen -_- ). Normally, I'd be the one who'd randomly show up in their rooms with series they'd never seen or even heard of, plunk their asses down, and show them whatever I'd gotten my hands on that week.
When Gurren Lagann came out, I made it my duty to gather whomever I could find, and show them this series. I wasn't able to show it to everyone I knew, but for those few episodes that we got together...the rest of the world just felt less heavy.
It reminded me that even though those days are gone, there's still some happiness to be found in the future. ^_^

I figured I might as well chime in on this lovefest, too. Even though I wasn't the biggest TTGL fan, I don't recall the last time I agreed with a review almost word for word. You've got it all down...how it reinvigorated the genre while remaining respectful to its core, the message it wanted to send, the overall flow of the frenzy, and you reviewed it for what it was...an endearing, charming series solely out to entertain. A thousand cookies for you, Ender.

time flies way to fast....and between Ender's review and Niner's i'm most definitively going to need to check this out.
