All right, doing this again.
http://www.acen.org/
'Tis located in Chicago, IL, and will be held on May 16-18.
Who's gonna be there, anyone?! And are you dressing up?
I'll be cosplaying Fai from Tsubasa on Friday and part of Saturday, then Honey from Ouran on the other part of Saturday and Sunday. :D Should be interesting.
ACen's pretty big. SURELY some others on here are planning to go? :hapbounce

Have they announced overflow hotels yet? Mana and I want to press it, but don't feel like driving in every day.

Eeek, the hotel situation is actually pretty hectic right now, but it looks like they just announced their overflow at Sofitel O'Hare.

I will be there for my second time, cause I had loads of fun last year.
Friday, I plan on being Marth (Fire Emblem 1 and 3, Super Smash Bros Melee/Brawl) on Friday, but I haven't started the costume yet. If it doesn't work out, Little Mac (Punch Out!!) it is. I'll be with a group of other characters who appear in the SSB series.
Sat, Gary from Pokemon. Only pimp. Me and the same group of friends will be pimp/thug/gangsta gym leaders.
Nothing on Sun, unless I reprise something.
I'm glad my friends parents have a Timeshare nearby, so no hotel for me this year!
Overflow booked real fast and now Roark and I are hotelless. We'll keep exploring our options, but we may end up having to drive this year again. Blech.

Eeek, I was afraid of that. The hotel situation is madness this year! Well, I do suggest that you guys check in with the hotels to see if they've had any cancellations. My dad and I were hotelless 2 weeks after the Hyatt filled up, but my dad called every day and eventually snagged a room when there had finally been a cancellation.
More hotels were announced and we managed to snag a spot at the Doubletree. Hurrah!

Awesome! That's good news. Now you can relax and refrain from driving the annoying distance.
Plus drinking. And more time able to be spent at con. And possible rooming with other friends. I'm pretty psyched :3 While I've attended ACen almost every year since '03, this is the first time I'll be able to do the full con since that first year.

Well that's exciting! It's always nice to be able to experience the whole weekend. Although, let's just hope that registration doesn't go out the wazoo again this year. Spending 3-4 hours in line for a PRE-REGISTERED badge on Friday last year was not fun. Especially since we got there around 5 or so (we drive in from 7 hours away). By the time we got out of there, it was going on 9PM, and we really did not have Friday at all to do anything.
I think we're going to try to get our badges mailed out to us this year so that we won't have to deal with that again. >_>; Eeesh, not fun times.

Tell me about it! Out of my 6 person group, 5 of us had to wait in line while our other friend got to take a nice nap. He was sooo lucky, we were not amused.
And it looks like Marth is out due to money and time constraints, so look for a little guy with big green boxing gloves!

I wish I could have napped! I remember the year before, the pre-reg line was nothing but the regular registration was killer...I had to wait for my friend to get through that, ugh. Had I known it was going to take her as long as it did, I would've wandered around or SOMETHING. But last year, I and others were getting our pre-reg badges while a couple of others in our group had to jump in the regular registration line. They beat us out, lol. Only by 10-20 minutes though.
Aww, shame you can't go as Marth! But hey, I hear you on the constraints, especially the money. I hate being a poor college student. :(
