So, we've got Pachi's lovely thread on whether Ganguro Gals scare you or not.

What about the different areas of Japanese fashion in general?

I'm quite a big fan of Lolita (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolita_fashion), Visual Kei (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_kei), and some "FRUiTS styles" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRUiTS).

Not so much of a fan of the aforementioned Ganguro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganguro) Girls, or of Kogals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kogal).

I personally own 2 lolita dresses that I collaborated with a friend's mom to make. One is a Patch-Doll Loli and the other is a Maid Loli. I wore one to Fanime '06 and the other to Fanime '07. I'm in the process of designing a third as my Senior Prom dress, so it's not just a spectator sport for me; I truly love Lolita. :3

What about you guys? Have any specific Japanese fashion you enjoy, be it simply looking at or actually wearing?

:3 Lolita is cute. My sis owns a few stuff, but I don't.

Oh?
Where did she get them?

Or did she make the stuff herself?

I reaaaally enjoy the many varieties of Japanese street fashion; the one thing that truely bums me about not living there. :<

Lolita/Goth Lolita are both classic. I love the Alice-inspired stuff. And Babydoll as well; the pastels can be delicious. <3 Cosplay, when done right, is magnificent (notice I said we done right; rarely accomplished folks). Visual Kei and Rockability are both interesting; I love that they make beautiful marriage of music and fashion.

Personally, coming from this self-proclaimed street fashion maniac, I love simply dressing in random garments, not really using a theme. A bit of designer, a bit of second-hand clothing. Mix-match. Wa-mono. Do whatever. It's really fun trying to think of new and interesting combos instead of following the usual lolita/ganguro trends. C'mon people, let's do this.
