Oh! This is the first I've read this thread... sorry Raven. :/ I think it's a great theme, but not sure I could pull one off myself. I'll give it a try though... maybe someone else will join me so we have at least a small contest? Like say... Silan?! Or Kyubichan?! I know you two already displayed your talents and are probably looking for others to step up but this just wouldn't be a contest without you!

(I'd call out ol' Scoot as well, but I don't think he even checks the forums anymore). :(

It's a great theme, I just think interest in these things is falling. Hopefully you'll get some entries by the end of the week.

I just noticed the original submission deadline (6/3) in relation to the date of your post Raven (5/30), and that only gave people four days. I think perhaps you meant 6/13? I hope so because I don't think I'm going to be able to get an entry in today.

Synopsis: This series is about a young high school boy named Takeru Takemoto who also works as a part-time motorbike courier, but during one of his deliveries he sees a light come from the sky and land in a nearby forest. Curious, he heads over to the landing point, only to find a glowing cocoon which houses a hot alien babe named Hikari! Add in the fact that each of these characters has another side that they aren't revealing to each other, and we have a series with plenty of ROMANCE and ACTION! WOO-HOO!

Highs: Tasty looking ladies, Insightful scenarios, Hot romances, Fun characters, and Juicy helpings of FANSERVICE! :D
Lows: Not enough ass-grabbing and Some scientific bullshit

Review:

Oh my god, Gainax has finally done it! We can now lay Evangelion to rest and talk about the new series that's been grabbing everyone by their fanstrings! This Ugly Yet Beautiful World is a title that's in itself choice poetry for the exact definition of this series, a very one-dimensional anime that shows us the inner beauties behind all the ugliness in our world.

TUYBW is an anime that follows our two lovebirds in a series of trials involving their romance after everyone in the community is familiar with Hikari and her juicy breasts, while also keeping an undertone of the alternate forms these characters hold whenever strange creatures appear to attack Hikari for some unknown reason. But the series never lets the scientific bullshit behind Takeru's seemingly unusual form and Hikari's strange background get too far ahead of the hot luvin' that occurs for most of the series respectively, though the science does damper some of the funnier moments to this lovely series.

But the romance is beautiful indeed, with another alien girl landing on the planet soon enough, there's plenty of flirting and fanservice ready to keep hot-blooded young males glued to the screen and exciting side characters to keep everyone on the screen active at all times! Takeru's best friend gets to hook up with the other alien girl, and all four of them go on happy little adventures together, like working at the beach or even hanging out at school! But the series doesn't want things to be that easy for predicting who Takeru will be with, as it appears his cousin also has a crush on him, affecting his already shy mood-swings with Hikari!

Don't accidentially grab somebody's breasts Takeru! :D

The end of the series reaches its beautiful conclusion admist a sudden wave of ugliness from within Hikari, but our lovey-dovey couple always has a way of working things out, and soon they throw away all the ugliness and everyone lives happily ever after. Well, within the confines of Gainax's good will that is.

I hope everyone watches this series and cherishes it for all the happy moments and boobies it offers, this may very well be the next Gainax anime to talk about in due time, join me! xD

Oh, and the music? Pfft! Who cares about that shit!?

Grade: 95%

Just in case no one noticed, I updated the Student Review Archive to include the contests and their repective winners.

With that, is there a way to view the actual reviews?

Done and Done.

Also, keep these things alive for a little while longer because I think I have an idea about how to revive its popularity, just got to scope things out first.
