Death Note contest discussion thread.

Hey everyone! Did I tell you I had something special planned, or what? :D

I created this thread for the purpose of discussing anything and everything to do with this contest. I've got a couple of points just to begin:

- I've already had a question about whether manga panels can be used. I mulled over this one for a while but the answer ultimately is no. The anime isn't finished yet and if someone enters a scan from the manga as their entry that spoils things, I won't consider it, no matter how good the facial expression is. Also, this is the Anime Academy after all. :p

- This contest is also open to the general internet masses, so there's just as much chance that a non-AA forum goer will win.

- Kei and Mana will be joining me in the judging, but once again I must emphasize that if you have any questions, comments or queries, please email me at two-twenty@animeacademy.com or PM me. Alternatively, you can post them in this thread.

- Just to clarify again, entries are to be sent only to deathnote_contest@animeacademy.com and not to my, Kei's, Mana's, Mugs's or any other prof's personal Anime Academy email addresses.

I might enter it, and hope that the prospect of cheaper non-international post will influence you and in turn your judges to vote my way ;)

You never know, most entries for review contest come pouring in last minute. I looked myself in mirror days ago trying to mimick Light's JUST AS PLANNED face but knew it was fail. O well, I liked the plushie.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but the "picture of self" thing is a turn-off. Otherwise, I'm sure we all still appreciate Two-Twenty in all his Death Note toting madness. More profs need to do more stuff like this... except... you know... more successful ones ;)

Excellent! A few last-minute entries, and we have a contest on our hands! Thanks to everyone that entered and let the judging commence!!! :D

Even though I only recieved a handful of entries, I'd still consider this contest a success. It was a good learning experience too, in the future I should remember:
a) To have runner-up prizes

I will hold contests again in the future, but next time, they'll be much easier to enter. There's another convention coming up in Brisbane this month, so I'll see if I can find some interesting prizes there. I do have another idea for a contest, but once again, it's Death Note themed. I'd like to do a different anime, so I'm open to suggestions.

Mailorder and Baka Neko were the only people from the forums who entered, so their the only ones I really feel comfortable showing (plus, if I showed them all, it reveal how embarrassingly few people entered :P).
