Who's thinking about it? Who are you predicting this time? :p

I'm not sure I'd be even trying for it this time. Not that my previous numerous failures has withered my enthusiasm, but just that so much more real life is being tossed at me now :D

Erigion FTW!

I'm thinking either Erig or Niner should run and make it. They both rawk.

I'll be a prof when you be a prof. Deal?

That would require actually watching anime, though.

I might as well try out! College makes it hard to get the requirement in sometimes, but I get on streaks that I can stockpile. Besides, my current gig just isn't giving me the support I need. :(

Hmmm. Do ordinary members get to vote? It'd be neat

Phate

No, as far as I know, only the administration of the site look at the submissions, then the professors look at the final selection..

Ordinary members voting would just be a huge mess, I'd imagine.

Back in the last contest, I thought to myself 'mmm maybe I'll apply next round'. But now if I were to ever apply for a reviewer position, I'd rather apply at that other place I like more /shameless ass-kissing

I think Tremolo might win this time. And no... we don't know who the name of the candidate when doing the evalutation.

Trem work? lol

I hope LS gets the position and then no one proofs her work and it never gets published. <3

Go LS~ :O. Trem would also be a good choice.

It's hard to say who'd be good; I need to read more of the student reviews. Though from posts alone I could probably take a stab at it. There's a good host of intelligent and eloquent people here.

I'm going to try again, I think. My failure last time allowed me to reevaluate my reviewing strategy.

It's been a fair long time since the first time I tried out for this (way back when we got Ender) so I may give it another shot.

It'll be fun to do this, now that I'm involved in the process. Everyone should apply :D

I'm banking on Mr. Down Under/Pr0n Master/2-20 to win this time 'round... unless he somehow screws it up along the way.

Nice kitty... :<

Guess I'll be entering this time as well. Hope there are lots of applicants

Good luck everyone!

I hope another reviewer will infuse life into the presently stagnant AA.

As a member of Nihon Review (http://www.nihonreview.com/), I won't apply.

Key word in my previous post being "may". I've got to actually apply before I screw up. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v486/Twotwenty/v.gif

I find it brilliant that I forget about AA for a bit and when I return there just happens to be a Professor contest. Don't know if I'll enter though. I didn't the last time/ =/

I'd love to be a professor.

I'm already a professor irl so it'd be cool to have this profession online as well.

I don't watch anime anymore. But it would be fun to have mod powers.

You all should give it a go. First-timers, old-shooters, it'll be fun.

The first time I tried out I lost to Eek. So, don't sell yourselves short. I made it here, and I suck!! ^_^

Win, lose, or draw, you get a swanky feeling out of it.

Good Luck to everyone who is applying. I'll look forward to reading new reviews on this site. :D

I actually applied for the last contest a week before I signed up on the boards, which was a hilarious experience being I've only read reviews on this site and nothing more. But now that I've been a part of this community for a little bit, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try again for the fun of it.

Same here. I applied a few years ago and, looking at my review, it was TERRIBLE. But, I made it last time, so go figure. I'm a hell of a lot better writer now, though.

I have a favourite in mind I've been prodding to enter. You know who you are >.>

But I'd still love to see some other contenders join in. I'm looking at you trem and niner.

Actually, I was thinking that when Erigion was mentioned.

Eri, work?!

The first time I entered the competition, I lost to Ender... and Ender even took the title of "Professor of Anime Storytelling" I originally wanted. (So now you know who my Secret Enemy at the Academy is. ^^) At the next contest, it was about the position Madoka had formerly filled, so I skipped it - I felt I wasn't the right guy to replace her - and it was a good choice I didn't apply, because Liegy got the job, and of course, Liegy is everyone's favorite Professor Gal now. And when I finally applied again, there were two places to be filled, and I got one of them, so really, you're looking at a second-rate Professor here... T_T

This time, of course, we don't really have to replace someone, so all of you can and should apply, if you think you're up to the job.

Oi, how rough do you think it was applying and knowing that, technically, you were filling Kain's shoes? *gonk* When I heard he was leaving at TakTak, I knew I had to at least apply, but it was still really daunting...

I don't know, logic would dictate that last time the final three were notified and I wasn't notified, meaning there are at least 2 better applicants still out there and my "resume" has definately not become more extensive. Things do not look good for ol' Raven.

I think the best mentality is not who's more qualified, but merely what you can do to make yourself fit those qualifications altogether. I'm on your team when it comes to those who don't have extensive resumes, and yet it would still be fun to give it a try just to see how well you would measure up this time around. If you don't get the spot, the idea of organizing your own thoughts can prove valuable for any future jobs you might wish to apply for (perhaps on other sites, or maybe one day it could be a publication).

I mean, resume's one thing, but being able to write and get out the proper expression is definitely another. This is still a site that holds a great amount of value in its review database, aside from the lectures and Con coverage, by many onlookers throughout the internet. I'm sure around half of the people on these boards discovered this site as a review page first and foremost before becoming a part of the community. So in conclusion, there's always hope, at least if you ask me!

Quoted for truth. I tried once before with a review for Slayers TRY, but no luck on that one (I might try to find that review and put it up in the Student Review page). Still, I'm giving it another shot just for fun.
