Your local library and/or bookstore should have books on this topic.

What kind of fashions? Street fashion or the avant-garde couture?

I did a tiny article about two Japanese supermodels in my blog:

(Yes, that was shameless plugging.)

I will just explain a few stuff I know :

- Japanese traditional and national dress known as Kimono for females and Yukata for males. Often used on Japanese traditions celebration such as the summer festival.
- After Anime make its booming in Japan, Japanese youth are not dressing into Anime or known as Cosplay [ costume play ]. Not just their cloth but also their hair style and many accessories from Anime are placed on their cloth, school bag, hair or body such as ring, neclace, bracelet, hair pin, etc.

That is what I know.

You must be not THINKING before you talk, because saying ALL means no exception including babyes and old peoples.
Or you are dreaming right now about what you said.

People lived before Levis?

Most likely, and they were probably sad because they didn't get to wear them. I should know... I was there when it happened. ;)
