There's another thread (http://www.animeacademy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22889) for favorite songs.
So I dub this thread the favorite lyrics thread and like the other "favorite" threads you're gonna need to post why you like the lyrics or your post will be deleted.

Prince is awesome, and no song better illustrates his tempo musically than "Kiss."
It's one of those grand songs, besides having an original sparse funk carefully laced in the background, that makes sure to illustrate just what it means to be an individual.
Try the opening lines: "U don't have 2 be beautiful 2 turn me on
I just need your body, baby, from dusk till dawn
U don't need experience 2 turn me up there
U just leave it all up 2 me, I'm gonna show U what it's allabout"
Yes, that's how it looks in the inserts, don't hold it against me!
I mean, I know this song's for the chicks, but Prince has an acertive attitude that screams "Be yourself" throughout this song. I guarantee results with a hot date when you have Prince belting out that chorus!
"U don't have 2 be rich 2 be my girl
U don't have 2 be cool 2 rule my world
Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with
I just want your extra time and your . . . . . kiss."
Woo!

My favorite song lyrics are from Massive Attack's False flags. (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/False-Flags-lyrics-Massive-Attack/CBB517B79FB32D9F4825717200289EC3)Someone on songmeanings.net posted a good summary of what the song seems to be about:
"I think this song is about the hopelessness of fighting; how all these people rioted and died for a cause and nothing changed excepted for some 'pretty flames.' I think he is trying to point out that blind patriotism and faith are the cause of this. Hints lines like 'the flags are false and they contradict' and 'this christian breeze turns its heart to more needles please.' I think he's right as well... Nothing has changed... Amazing song though... Such a change of sound from their original form. Always leaves me feeling helpless... A must hear for Massive Attack fans... "
This is my favorite song by Massive Attack not only because of the lyrics and the way they're sung, but also because of the piano that's played throughout the song, it adds an amazing sound that really sends a chill through the listener's body. The music video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjAV8PpZWX4) is also very good.
EDIT - I almost forgot, at the end they use a sample from Radiohead's The Bends. The lyrics from that part are:
"Where do we go from here/ the planet is again engulfed in a sea of fear"

Well, I'm probably not going to surprise anyone here by having this band on the list...
Dir en grey - Higeki wa Mabuta o Oroshita Yasashiki Utsu
This song is the most played song in my iTunes library. With a gentle and understated melodic line, it's not the most OMG spectacular song out there. But combine the lyrics with it, and it becomes one of the most touching and beautiful songs I've heard. Simply put, it packs a lot of emotional punch. The mournful lyrics are a eulogy for a fan of the band that committed suicide. Sample, poorly translated by me: Tears blend in the azure sea / No one even realized the reason you cried / You should have been saved but you weren't / Feel life / If just for a moment, please live.
And I'm certain I've said X-Japan's Art of Life before, so I won't bother to repeat myself.

Joanna Newsom-Ys-Emily
"anyhow - I sat by your side, by the water
you taught me the names of the stars overhead that I wrote down in my ledger
tho all I knew of the rote universe were those pleiades loosed in december
I promised you I‘d set them to verse so I'd always remember
that the meteorite is a source of the light
and the meteor's just what we see
and the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee
and the meteorite's just what causes the light
and the meteor's how it's perceived
and the meteoroid's a bone thrown from the void that lies quiet in offering to thee"
Seriously that is genius, and they are delivered perfectly. I think that chorus about the meteors, despite it's dubious scientific veracity, is one of the more beautiful lines in music.
And from the greatest MC of all time...
Nas-Illmatic-NY State of Mind
"In the streets I can greet ya, about blunts I teach ya
Inhale deep like the words of my breath
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death
I lay puzzle as I backtrack to earlier times
Nothing's equivalent, to the new york state of mind"
Hearing is believing.
