Anime Expo 2007

Okay, here's the info. AX '07 will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center (not in Anaheim as previously) from June 29 to July 2. Anyone here interested in going or know for sure if they will be? There is a slight chance that I'll go, so I'm interested in seeing if anyone else here is planning on it.

I have a lot of reason to go to Southern California now, so it would be a good idea for me to schedule that trip around the convention dates. How long does it usually take for hotels there to sell out before con time?

Can't answer that but anyway, seeing that this was your first post just wanted to say hi. Names IceDemon welcome to AA. As for attending AX, I would love too but I can't. I don't have the money to make it out to California from the East Coast. Since I would be out of college and all I have the time but I can't afford the plane ticket and all. You guys enjoy and when you get back or are there post here and give me all the information that I can't get off the web.

Well considering the fact that a whole lot of people are coming each every year... Ax moved from the convention in Anaheim to a really LARGE convention in Long Beach. If more people keep coming each year... AX might have a problem... And you know, that's obviously not 100% guaranteed. But it's great living atleast an hour and half hours from one of the second largest convention in U.S. Well... maybe not the second largest. But one of the most largest conventions :P

But anyhow, yes. I'll be going there this year as Vincent Valentine ...

I spent 95% of my time playing Virtua Fighter 5. I got in some good practice with Lion and Eileen.

Panels: Haruhi Suzumiya Japanese VAs Focus, Oreskaband Focus, Mushishi, Geneon, Banda, Mega64, Anime Singled Out

Concerts: Chiaki Ishikawa, Oreskaband, SOS Brigade Invasion

Oreskaband is too good! At the panel, they were all crackin' jokes and stuff. Some guy asked some silly question about whether they could summon demons with their music or whatever... and they actually responded. Leader (trombone) was likes Dragonball replied with "Majin Boo". Another dude says, "You're all beautiful" and Saki (trumpet) says in English: "Tell me something I don't know". And although they didn't allow photography during the panel, the band stayed a bit afterwards for pics! However, their live concert allowed flash photography and even video recording. I've got a video of their cover of "Monkey Man". I'll upload it on YouTube soon.

As for gaming, I was in the Melty Blood tournament. Although I played Melty Blood at the arcade, mostly... since I can't play a 2d fighter on a pad. I need stick!

After Last Comic Standing, some of the judges joined up with AX Meet & Greet forum people and had a party at the Hyatt Pool. And it was there where I got to meet out-of-costume drunken Man Faye : p What's crazy is that after the party, he and another friend (the female Judge who sat to the left of Man Faye) and myself went to karaoke at 3AM. On our way there, we met a goth couple fighting at the streetlight. The dude was shouting profanities at his girlfriend. We broke up the fight, but the mood was awkward. So drunken Man Faye hugged the girl and told her that she was perfect, and only she could be her perfect self... basically made her feel good about herself. The goth girl broke down to tears, and the couple stopped fighting (since the dude felt like a real jerk at this point). Man Faye has got a few haters (hopefully not here!), but people really just got to get to know the guy! He's definitely a good dude!
