Today I went to a Half Price Books an while looking around the small manga section they have I found vol. 1 of Hellsing in hardback. the copyright page says it was published exclusively for Barnes and Nobles and even has thier logo on the spine of the dust jacket. I was wondering if anyone knew what the deal is with this print. I would appreciate any info anyone could give me.

The hardcover Hellsing book has been around for a while. This book was created through a contract by Barnes and Nobles with Dark Horse. I don't recall anything but the first volume of Hellsing getting the hardcover treatment which implies that it didn't sell well enough or the executives at Barnes and Nobles found out how violent Hellsing was. In other words, don't expect any more.

I haven't seen the hardcover Hellsing manga, but I did find a hardcover volume 2 of Trigun at Barnes and Noble. I also have seen a hardcover edition of Akira volume 1. So do all Dark Horse mangas have a hardcover edition sold through Barnes and Noble?
Not all, just some of the more popular titles. Tokyopop also did a couple hardcover volumes, but from what I've heard, sales of the hardcover books weren't all too great, since they were more expensive than the regular paperbacks.
