Just about finished with the anime but none of the relationships have been resolved! I hear that the manga ties up all the loose ends of the series so i want to read it. However the manga runs, if im not mistaken, 36 volumes. I like ranma and everything but i dont want to read a bunch of stuff ive seen already. well anyway just wondering which volume picks up where the anime left off. also i heard that the manga is quite different from the anime. would it really be nessesary to read ALL of them?
I found the Ranma manga very entertaining, though I wouldn't say that it's too much different than the manga.
...Then again, I didn't actually read the manga (or the anime for that matter) the whole way through, I just read stories and volumes here and there, since the whole plot thing isn't really necessary as long as you know the characters.
So, in other words, I have no idea how it ends =\ You could always just pick up the last volume of the manga to find out >.>;

Save your money. When it comes to romance, Ramna 1/2 is about as productive and Dragonball Z.

A few relationships are actually resolved. Most, however, are left hanging, with heavy hints as to their ultimate outcomes but a "We leave our heroes here" attitude of how they actually get there.
Rest assured, Ryoga's plots are all tied up.

Well, I did quite enjoy the series, and I have most of the manga. I haven't seen the whole anime series itself, but I've read the whole manga. I did quite enjoy it and I love the characters. Yeah, it doesn't necessarily wrap up the relationships, but I like how it does end. The last confrontation with Saffron's interesting and well done. All in all, I love the series and the characters, even if it is pretty much typical Takahashi style. It managed to hold my interest the whole way through.
If you know all the caracters, then to get what you need to understand the ending would just require you read the last two. I do reccomend all of them, though, as a good, albeit long, series to look into.

And don't forget that a few seasons into the anime they suddenly decide to start making up their own plotlines, plus the anime ended far sooner than the manga did, so even if you've seen all of the anime, there's still plenty of reason to read the manga.

I read the whole thing and I think things are tied up. Not as well as Maison Ikkoku perhaps but enough that I was satisfied.
No Ranma and Akane don't get married. And in the end Ranma is his usual immature self. I'll admit that was sort of annoying. But Ranma 1/2 was never meant to be really serious and Ranma is still just a teenager. However in the end we have Ranma admit at least to himself that he loves Akane. And his words get through to her. And personally that is enough for me. I also got the feeling from the end that Ranma and Akane will end up together they just aren't ready at that particular moment. Life will go on.
And better yet Ryouga gets a girlfriend who loves him and knows his secret. If anyone deserved happiness it was him.

Ranma 1/2 is my all time favorite anime and i was also disappointed with the ending because the relationships were left hanging. Have you guys watched its OVA maybe it'll help you satisfy your crave for the ending. Eventhough the reltionships were still hanging at least you'll get to see that their feelings for each other becomes much deeper...Hehehe I wish that Ranma and Akane end up together

I'm sure they were deliberately left hanging to keep fans guessing (and debating) for many more years to come. o:

I don't understand how the OVA shows the character's feelings better than the manga or maybe I am missing a scene in the OVA that shows this.
Just because Ranma and Akane who are both still very young didn't get married in the end does not mean we do not know their feelings. Ranma admitted to himself that he loves Akane that is enough for me. I am not saying the ending was my absolute favorite ending ever but I don't think it was that open ended. The wedding didn't happen that day but that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. It was just held off for the time being.
