Yeah I'm confused, do you want anime or manga recommendations?

Well, in either event, you may want to try some CLAMP titles. Their manga are pretty good and their anime adaptations almost always turn out to be "well above average" (but not quite perfect).

So Panic.

Ranma 1/2 is a good choice. There is some brief nudity however if that's a problem at all.

Inu-Yasha has a decent manga length and is fun and easy to read for newer fans. I definatly enjoyed it.

Death Note is very good and detailed. it's definatly more for the intellectual type of reader.

Hikaru No Go has the same artist as Death Note I believe. The story is based on a board game but still has very good appeal to people who like a good story.

I'm still new at this so I've only fully read a few titles (not all of them recommened). I'm sure more experienced fans will be able to give you better recommendations for your club. Good Luck.

fushigi yugi- this is a good manga, there is some nudity however, and it talks about one of the characters being raped.

Bleach would be good if you enjoyed Naruto and Kenshin.

Kare Kano is a good read, too. Not as good as Fruits Basket in terms of character study, but up there.

If you want a variety of things, I'd recommend Love Hina for your shounen romance quota, and Akamatsu's other work Negima is good too for your more surrealist constituency. Neither skimp on the fanservice though, so be warned of that. And steer clear of the anime incarnations of both.

Any Ghibli movie is always a good bet as far as anime goes, and I can't recommend Millenium Actress enough. Movies spun off from long TV series (Naruto, Dragonball, etc) generally aren't very good, so don't get tricked into those, yet oddly enough the Inuyasha movies weren't bad. Check them out if you like the series (they're really not much different, actually - like double-length episodes or something).

I, like, second all of these. And Nana, if you are looking for some slice-of-life/romantic comedy stuff. It's amazing, and beautifully organized. Paradise Kiss is brilliant if you can stand the crap of an ending...

Throw in some healthy Lone Wolf And Cub or Blue Heaven or Berserk and you will have a nice manga salad there.

Might also read the sticky thread called: Looking for a good manga?

Oh! My Goddess is a winner for those looking for a heart-warming series who don't mind chugging through 210+ chapters.

You might want to consider narrowing your request down. I'd suggest browsing the Top 10 manga thread (in the same forum as this one); find someone who likes things you do and check out series they name which you haven't read.

Blade of the immortal- About an immortal Ronin who must atone for killing 100good men by killing 1000 bad men, once he's done this he'll be free to die. Good action seqences and some funny moments

FLCL- Crazy ass manga that just off the wall, about a kid who has a portal in his head. Pretty funny if you can follow the story.

Ranma 1/2- Really good anime, great for someone new to manga as theres so much of it.

Akira- Classic and still good, little differn't that the anime, enjoyable if not a little exspensive.

We really should make a top 50 mangas or something, because there seems to be a Recommend manga post ever few months.

Try:
Death Note- A thrilling battle of wits in epic proportions... A must read... What could be better than a notebook that kills people?

Aishiteruze Baby- A heart-warming shoujo manga that's lots and lots of fun to read especially if you love a sweet love story or a light hearted comedy...
