According to Timbaland, that is the best way to describe Bjork's newest album. However, I'm thinking it to be more like hip hop beats instead of full-blown hip hop. Kinda like how Homogenic ended up. Whatever the case, I'll be first in line here. Is anyone else intrigued?

Discuss.

Wasn't the album before this one entirely done without instrumental help? Just volcalists?

I suppose I'd have to hear her new stuff but personally, I've never been a big fan.

Her previous album was sung in entire a capella, with the exception of two instruments in two seperate songs.

So far, there hasn't been anything new of her's that has been released. I'm dying to hear it, though...

I see. Well, it never hurts to listen to new music and I'll give her another shot when the music comes to my attention once more. ;3

If all you've heard was Medulla, then you are really missing out. XD Even though the album was interesting, it was not her best. I'd advise you to start out with either Homogenic or Vespertine. They both have thematic sounds and both have some amazing songs.

To be honest, I'm not all that into "Pop, Trip-Hop, Vocal jazz, Ambient, Electronica, Dance, Alternative" Genres as much as others. Like I said though, I will try anything once.

And wasn't she the lead singer of the Sugarcubes a while back?

^Yeah, she & the Sugarcubes go back. They recently performed and I'm waiting for a video to surface. XD

Timbaland's new album, apparently out next Spring, will be having Bjork on it. I really like Timbaland; he is obviously someone wise in the music industry. He's willing to experiment and that, in my book, deserves respect. Bjork's new album is still underway and I haven't heard to much on it. I'm still hoping for something more like Vespertine, but I'll take what I get.

You can always count on the little icelander Bjork to pull something weird out of her magic bag of sonic tricks. Medulla=wierd but interesting, Vespertine=as multi-facited as an a chunk of glacier ice, Homogenic=cool, Post=the first

I'd agree with what you said over what Timbaland said.

Good for Bjork for playing around with new beats, but she's no more "hip hop" than Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, etc.

But then, hip hop is in its early death throes right now, and no one knows what will emerge from that - a revitalized phoenix or just a rotting corpse.

I don't think she'll be "hip-hop", wrapping or anything. Gracious no. XD

Hip Hop centers around mechanical beats that serve as the foundation of the lyrics. So, I'm figuring the album will be more about the beats than lyrics. I'm really anticipating the videos that come with this bunch, because the last ones where particularly stale. She's got more than that "sing to the camera" persona, I want some more videos that are pure art. Like "Cocoon". <3

This album will either turn out to be pretty awesome, or really whack. Either way, I'm interested.

I probably enjoy Bjork's music more than I'll ever manage to admit. She's very strange, yet she seems to know how to make those kind of artsy, sensuous, almost scenic songs that I really like. She's difficult to play for other people, though...
