I've noticed that since I joined here most I've seen is taking to review all about anime
since anime can't run without a opening theme or ending when it is watch in tv or dvd or whatever sources you got

why can't we do the same with it's songs? just giving grade about it
or seeking for connection in the story..

what do you think guys?..

well if someone is make this kind of thread in the past.. maybe you can close this

Interesting. Unfortunately, the possible reviewers are limited because:
1. Few people here understand Japanese.
2. The themes are usually not connected to the story.

I guess we can grade them by arrangement though...

maybe we can go to other site to find the translation of the specific song.. is it allowed here to post a certain site??

I know what that other site is, however, it's still better if someone who really knows Japanese can review the songs. Take for example some of this Pinoy lyrics:

"Isang ugat, isang dugo, pare-parehong Pilipino..."

If you translate that in English, it'll sound like crap. But to us Pinoys, it makes perfect sense. See where I'm getting at?

Hm...Perhaps, instead of just the opening or ending themes, one could review the entire OST. I'd definitely be up for that

[Shameless plug]

You can find a select number of OST reviews at certain other review sites. Click on my sig for more information.

Since when has animelyrics.com been a restricted site? Just don't link to fansubbers.

hey I don't get it.. what I'm saying is that can we do the same thing as reviewing or getting the similarities of the songs from their anime..
because all I can see is that more are in to the story..
well.. don't kill for that hahhaa.. but it's been look like that some anime where reviewed or discussed for many times..

........ Why don't you just make a thread and start reviewing them, then?

She's making a suggestion, and possibly asking for a go signal from the mods or other members ^^

I don't see any problem with it. It's not like it's against the rules or anything o_O;

Actually, I think she's asking for all the professors to write about and grade the music for the anime, instead of just doing it herself.

Go for it, lyleanna. Review! Review!

because all I can see is that more are in to the story..
That's because most music (speaking BGM here) for anime is forgettable. I can only name a handful of anime off the top of my head for which I actually remember the music and want to listen to the soundtrack besides hearing it in the anime itself. Most of the time it's repetitive nonsense that doesn't really contribute much. Or rather, it contributes the absolute bare minimum.

Story is more important in anime, honestly. The best soundtrack in the world can't save a terrible anime.

Now if you're talking songs as in with lyrics and vocals, there are a few more that stand out.

Well, yeah, if you mean AA reviewing anime music... eh, not gonna happen ^^; We review anime, not songs, and if the music is particularly important in an anime (at least from the professor's point of view), he'll bring it up in the review, but that's it.

I'd be down with somebody (not professors, they're busy little elves ^_^) willing to review anime music. Personally, I'd love to see a feature on the soundtrack of Macross or Bubblegum Crisis. But that's just me.

In-Depth Soundtrack Reviews? My support!

In fact, I think it would be neat if the Campus Radio Hotline section of the forums featured a thread on Soundtrack Reviews. I'm in no shape to start, but even I'd be kind of interested. Of course, I own a few soundtracks I could review (but not the BGC or Macross soundtracks ;_;, which contain my favorite songs).

I think people do talk about opening/endings and their connection to the show quite often, it's just that it tends to take place in the thread for that show (see the General Anime section).

Or is she possibly asking that the Profs review anime music on the main site?

no.. i'm not saying that the profesors do the job.. we can all do the review just like Panwolf did, but my point is that... can we take the same thing for the songs of a certain anime? or if give only some criticism if the said song was worthy to be in that anime.. and kyubichan was right.. i'm thinking to do it, but still I have to get your opinion or from the other users here... and lyrics and vocals could do too...
and i'm clearing this... i'm not asking for a professor to do it for me
i can do this myself..
i'm just asking getting all of your suggestions and besides i'm freshman you know...
this will really help..
(peace!!)

I don't think people understand what you're suggesting at all. Give us a clear statement of what you would like people to do or, you know, just go ahead and do something as an example. No one's stopping you, but we really can't understand what you're saying at the moment. Are you talking about songs or full soundtracks? Are you focusing on just openings or all music in an anime?

It might help if you used punctuation other than elipses.

and i'm clearing this...
What would be a good way of clearing it is just doing whatever it is you want to do... and if the thread gets closed, you'll know the mods didn't clear it. :icon_danc

Go for it and just do it, because like Roark said... I don't really get what it is you even want to do.

She's suggesting that we review anime themes, rate them either by their quality/arrangement and maybe state their relevance to the anime itself.

I have doubt to this.. I always thinking that people woudn't mind what I would write...
maybe all songs may be include but it is too broad for just one topic...

and i don't know where to start.. that's why, i'm getting some help from all of you

Okay now, I think I'm getting the big picture here: You wish for AA to create some sort of a page that focuses on anime soundtrack reviews, further adding on from just the anime reviews themselves, but it looks like it's not gonna happen.

So here's my advice: There's absolutely nothing wrong with your wish. You can just create a new thread entitled "Anime Soundtrack Reviews". Or better yet, after the review thread's been around for some time, create an "Student Review" based only on anime soundtracks. I concur that this doesn't go against the AA rules.

There's nothing to be afraid of with your suggestions. In the worst possible scenario, your thread will be closed, but that's remotely possible. Seriously, the mods aren't gonna ban you for that. They're reasonable and rational people, I can assure you.

I think I'll try to start a thread for a review of a soundtrack. After which, y'all can possibly put input in on how to shape the review threads. Is that all right?

thanks guys!!you've given me ideas, really... and now i'm gonna start this thread now...
and big hugs for all those who given me suggestion... all of you...
:lol2: and about the title I would use it...
