My must-see movie of the year. I didn't have time to see it yet, but plan to very soon.
If you're not excited about this movie, you're a horrible person. Or you haven't heard of it, since studio execs are limiting the publicity of the movie, fearing it'll be another Snakes on a Plane (ie box-office disaster).

Someone finally figured out the trick to making a good movie from a TV sketch character: keep it real. The film is strung together with a loose plot about Borat’s obsession with Pamela Anderson, using some staged interludes to keep things moving. The Borat-on-the-street bits hold up to the strongest pieces of satire Cohen has ever performed on Da Ali G Show.
For those needing incentive to indulge in satire that treats political correctness like a doggy to a fire hydrant, clicky linky thingy:

I read that it made 26.1 million the first weekend while only playing in 837 theaters!!

Hmm...Guess no one really knows about this movie? Or cares?
I saw it, and I can honestly say this is the funniest movie I've seen this year. Maybe other years too, xept I can't quite remember. Amazing how such crude comedy can be so enlightening, especially toward the southern white.
damnit...had no idea that we had title restrictions

I really want to see this movie, but I think only one theatre is playing it, and only one showtime! T_T
I'm a fan of Cohen and his Ali-G show and his Borat segments were the best.
I guess very little people know about it since it's not shown in many theatres. Heck, even Russia banned the movie because they wanted to keep their relationship healthy with Kazakhstan.

I saw Borat and I thought it was the most disgusting offensive movie I have ever seen, there were definately funny parts. i don't know how he got away with that stuff.

I saw the movie the first night it was out here. Now, it was only in one of the local theatres and yet I seemed able to get in. The movie itself was hilarious. Not for the extreamely homophobic, but funny enough for the rest. It's also one of the most quoteable movies I've ever seen. Not like that Napoleon Dynamite quoting phase, but real qutes that are actually funny in any context. I dunno, I enjoyed the film.

During the wrestling scene between Azamat and Borat a bunch of people actually walked out of the theatre.
Oh and the scene at the Bed and Breakfast was golden.

Wow.
That movie was possibly the most ridiculous I've ever seen.
It's also hilarious knowing that most everyone was not acting. I hear the only actors were Borat, Azamat, Pamela, the prostitute, and Borat's family and friends in his home country.

I think that was the funniest thing I've seen in years. I mean, I've seen the TV show, so I figured it would be more of the same, and to an extant it is, but it's just so chockful of insane and ridiculous humor I can't complain. I was in tears in parts, and rollin with laughter the rest.
So, to summarize, "Very nice!"

Not exactly my sort of movie. I know it's a joke, but it doesn't seem to be my particular brand of humor, so I'm not going to see it in all likelyhood. I know it's an extended joke, and thus not something to get offended over, but it just doesn't look like I'd find it terribly funny.
Got to say, though, the people who take it far too seriously are providing some interesting readtions to observe. XD

Borat was a good movie, and is a good segment. But I'm sick of everyone at school quoting that movie. It was funny the first time I heard it, and they went and killed it.
