All of their systems crashed.
Happens every year.
And right after they were so excited about buying new servers to prevent crashing this year.
Silly admins.

Edit: Christmas is also heavy on the system-crashes. ;P

Very true. They told everyone that they got alot more so not to worry.

I used to be crazy about Gaia (just ask Marc), and I was actually rather rich as far as things go (I wonder how much I wouldn't have been able to sell my DJs for on Ebay if I still had them >.>), but I quit and moved on a while ago. Server crashes are nothing new, and they'll probably continue to happen. My best strategy was to get the good event stuff early on, sell it for as high a price as possible, and then wait for everything to die down and buy back the items once they dropped heavily in price. As little server bitchiness as possible, and a good profit to boot. :D

I dont play to get rich i just play and I have fun with it. To much work for a game with no end.

I've always wanted to be a rich Gaian.
But I always give my friends gold, so I never get very far.

I don't even know what Gaia is, just that everyone hates it for some reason.

It was kind of fun while it lasted. I did meet some good people there... but, of course, this was back in the day when there weren't too many people there =\ It used to be a decent anime community, then it got bogged down with jerks, spammers, and filth, and my natural elitist ways eventually just turned me into an Exchanger; there was still interaction with the people I know were good (who were becomign fewer and fewer), but making money on there was the only thing that kept it interesting, and eventually even that died out. I feel so sorry for one of my friends on there who became a mod... she's going to be stuck there foreever now, and apparently now she's using WoW as a medicine -_-;

People hate Gaia because of the concentrated idiocy only possible on a site that rewards you for posting nothing. That and young girls selling boobie pictures for fake money, and not very much of it.

Yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. System's lagging too much for me to even get my trick-or-treat candy from the shopkeepers. I had to buy my Halloween cape. D:

P.S. AA name = Gaia name. Add me. :D

Hey man, I'm an /a/hole. Clearly you've never met soh, she is stronger with the /b/tardedness than I will ever be.

(V), I wouldn't mind MySpace so much if stupid teenagers didn't make their pages absolute horrors with respect to layout, with stupid videos, embedded music players, shoddy backgrounds, idiotic surveys and broken tables galore. It literally hurts the eyes to look at some of the crap that people come up with. And reference Roark's post for my views on Gaia, they're basically the same.

Hey.
I hate MySpace.
I have more than 7 friends.
Doesn't stop me from having a MySpace account to keep track of a few special people.
But I still hate it.

But yes, Gaia is fun.
Even if I hate the chatterbox with the power of a hundred suns.
And the GD is now pretty much all sexuality debates and /b/astards target.
ED is beginning to deteriorate as well.
But I still have fishing and the Exchange to be in.

Gaia, I've been that site for a while. It took a whole half hour before I shook my head and left. I'm sure there is a modicum of intelligence in the sea of mediocrity, but I'm not going to waste my precious time to find it.

I'm on Gaia quite a bit as well, though I mostly just hang out there with people I know. I was around when the forums were somewhat better and less crowded, but things change, much to the regret of the intelligent users on Gaia. I used to hang out in the Anime forum there before it started getting overrun by people who couldn't read the rules and overbearing elitists. On the other hand, if there is a particularly good, interesting, or unintentionally comedic thread there, I usually hear about it through my friends that mod the forum. They get all the funny stories of people who PM then asking why their topics were moved, then complaining.

All in all, Gaia's a mixed bag. There are intelligent people and groups, but they are the minority. If you can find a good group or game or whatever, then it is definitely a good forum. If you just want to browse the forums, then not so much.

Although, I will say this about the avatar system. I quite enjoy making costumes that hurt people's eyes and fry the brains of those in the Avatar Talk areas. XD

Ya, I hate the pages that take like 10 sec.s to load and well the dumb teenagers are, just that dumb if they didnt get raped from myspace it would be on Aim chat rooms.

Uhhh... yeah, sure, if you say so >>; I don't like MySpace, and I have friends and parties. What does that make me?

The majority of MySpaces are ugly, full of worthless filth, and have too many songs/movies/whatever playing at once, so much that it makes it hard to figure out which ones have loaded when, and how to turn them all off. Bad coding, bad scrolling, not to mention TERRIBLE aesthetics... I know not all MySpace pages are like that, but too many of them are. Even people who I like, I visit visit their MySpace unless it's a tool to make fun of them.

Myspace is free and i have more peoples mypaces then phone numbers, i dont know when i think the kid that get hurt, it i think thats alittle sad ...
the kids getting hurt is sad but it would happen without myspace, almost all of us have seen the little thing on tv were the people go on chatrooms and get guys to go to houses were they think there is a little girl waiting for them to have sex with. The net is a place were you just have to be smart not even smart just not dumb, you dont tell people were you live. I act on the net as i would if i was talking to a person i dont know on the bus. I wouldnt just tell them were i lived.

Well alot of the people i ask say they hate it because its "gay" or like darkkanti
ssaying we should use phones, myspace is free and to call almost 200 people would be kind of hard.
The thing I hate about myspace is the people, telling everone that they got a new "PIC" there must be someone that just looks at that and cant look and leave comments.

I don't think people would have said such derrogatory things if it weren't for what you said. After all, there do seem to be a lot of people who don't like MySpace and yet don't fit under your qualifications.

Way to make an overarching, generalized and completely unfounded statement that makes you look like a complete dick. I congratulate you, that's quite a feat, even for AA.

I have quite a bit more than just 7 friends and I party just as hard as the next college student, perhaps even harder at times. I also loathe MySpace, as I have already enumerated earlier. I feel really damn sorry for you if your primary form of communication to your friends is a shoddily-designed, ad-ridden, and stalker-ripe website. I would much rather network with friends on a more personal level than inane comments marked with a timestamp and obscured by awful backgrounds and trendwhore emo music. And I seriously doubt that you interact with all 200 people on your friends list. Which brings me to another issue I have with MySpace; adding just random people you met on the street to your friends list for the purposes of extending your e-penis. That's just pathetic, through and through.

I Know about 150 of the 200 as a friend, other people mostly are the ones who added me. I dont use myspace to "chat" with people i use it as a easy way to get my friends together for partys. Well Im sorry you think im a dick not many people tell me that most people tell me im very nice. Well Im telling you what i have seen with most people were i live.

Wow this turned into a fight about myspace realy fast. I think its time to end this thread.

That's exactly what Niner's talking about. Adding people you don't know. It's kind of stupid to add them, because they aren't really your friends.

Ok, but where you live is but a small population when put up to the population of the world. What you made was a rash generalization, and it's best not to assume the reasons one isn't a member of MySpace is the same everywhere.

I just dont see the reasons they have given other then the rape thing is no good reason to hate myspace.
It is rash to call me a dick after reading one post on a anime forum, is it not?
