I don't know where to get traditional Filipino (Pinoy) songs, but here's a link/sitewhere you can listen to current songs by local artists:
http://www.tristancafe.com/music/
Songs are listed alphabetically, by title. The name of the artist is under the title. Just click the title of the song and you'll be redirected to another page. I'm more into upbeat stuff so I suggest: 2 Trick Pony (Sandwich), 214 (Rivermaya), Direction (Slapshock). Bamboo is pretty good too, as well as anything by Gary Valenciano.
You're asking "Why Pinoy music?" ... well, we can write good English and more into pop-rock than hardcore rock or bubblegum pop. Just check it out, I'd appreciate it if you posted your comments here.

Well, pinoy music is really good. I love listening to the music. Of course that's because I'm a Filipino. Although the songs you suggested were nice, the tagalog songs are better :D (Sponge Cola rocks!)

Currently, I'm loving Isang Bandila. The reason I suggested those songs is because AA is an English-speaking community... as far as I know XD

Me either. I didn't like Ely after E-heads. I also didn't like E-heads after Ely.

Eh? Strange thing to find in a thread... Oh well...
I particularly enjoy listening to Hale... Their songs interest me due to their catchy melody and lyrics...

Since people listen to J/K-pop, I made this thread to promote Pinoy music ^^ Makabayan ako!
EDIT:
Not music but... whoo-ooh! Pacquiao defeated Morales in the third round! Yaysh! End.

Hmm... The best band (in my opinion) is Sponge Cola or Urbandub. You should try listening to these guys. They ROCK! (Wag kang bibitiw bigla...)
And Isang Bandila by Rivermaya is really good too :D
Ooh and I just want to say that Morales didn't put up that great a fight today :D (To quote kyubichan:D)

Yeah. He talked big then BLEH. Three rounds? Jeez, Larios could do better!

E-heads later releases became more mainstream :(
EDIT:
Let's not jump to conclusions here... He might not have been feeling well...
Maybe. But on that note, Pacquiao wasn't feeling well on the first match which he lost. I think Morales should move to another division, since he seems to be having too much trouble keeping the right weight. He doesn't look healthy too.

Heh, yeah, that wasn't surprising. I thought their early stuff were very well written and spoke to its listeners a bit more closer to heart than their new stuff which sounded like plastic. I guess with such an early success, they were bound to run out of steam.

Let's not jump to conclusions here... He might not have been feeling well... He did beat Pacquiao once, didn't he? But who cares? Pacquiao won anyways... Go Philippines!!!

Pinoy music is really interesting. From the songs I've heard (mostly native ones, more cultural; a school project someone opted into doing) it sounds like something quite different from native Japanese music, despite their close locations.
I know this is completely out of the blue, but are there many Pinoy electronica groups/singers/musicians that are really good? I'm most into that genre, and I'm looking for new thrills these days. =]
