You get some ridiculous items being used as weapons in anime (and videogames), so post some of your favorites.

Master Asia using his cloth belt in G Gundam was awesome.

And of course, you can't forget guitars in fooly cooly.

Ryoga's razor bandannas, hands-down. They were totally underused, though.

Yeah, didn't they only use it like..once or twice in the entire series?

Hmm.
Weapon that's not a weapon.
How about Azusa's ability to pick up anything and start walloping them with it because she wanted to add an item they had to her collection. I think that should count, after all, she beat the crap out of Ranma's dad for eating the riceball she wanted to name with random objects around her.

Hmmm? How about a notebook? A Death Note more specifically? That's really cool!

How about death by school ID card?

I was always partial to the way Kirika snapped that guy's neck with his own tie in episode 1.

Lark literally throws a planet at the giant space monster in Gunbuster 2 (Diebuster), and is set to do it again during episode 6 before Nono stops her.

Pucchan, the killer hand puppet in Gokujou Seitokai.

Is a 2x4 a weapon? Shintarou Yamada's choice weapon in Kanpai!I mean the thing can actually stab people and it's just a piece of wood. Or paper from Read or Die.Paper magic, what fun!

Add to the list thread, cloth, and needles as used by Kadzuki, Jubei, and Sakura from Getbackers... Sound harmless? But they're strong enough to immobilize, slice, impale, and bind human flesh...

I'm sure that all of you have seen Ninja Resurrection, so I'll just go right on ahead. There was that crazy ninja guy who killed people with his intestines. Yep, his intestines. Very inventive I must say.

It's not an anime, but I gotta go with some of the armaments you can get ahold of in God of War. With the secret costumes from Challenge of the Gods earned, you can replace the standard Blades of Chaos with frying pans, sea flippers, silver briefcases, or jugs of milk. :P

I posted this a very long time ago in another weapons thread, but it still holds merit now.

"Best weapon evar? Chidori Kaname's paper fan in FMP and FMP: Fumoffu. Why? Because it's the only weapon that Sagara Sousuke has no defense for. He dodges bullets, defuses bombs, destroys enemies with enough weapons to outfit several small countries. But when he steps out of line in view of Kaname, his ass is grass. Boom."

I'm gonna have to agree with Niner on this one, the classic Paper Fan tops all other wannabe weapons. It'll knock senseless any unsuspecting person, even if they're expecting it!

Pfft, no need to read Alice 19th to see words be deadly. That's what Vogon poetry is for:

Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits
On a lurgid bee.
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes
And hooptiously drangle me
with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon
See if I don't.

Earthworm Jim using his own head as a whip just beats everything in my book.

I second that.

In anime, though: Kusanagi ripping apart the tank in GitS the movie, using her own body as a weapon, was awesome.

Definately the blue Rickenbacker Bass Guitar and the Flying V. <3

Tentacles. The weapon of love.

Ewwy. O____o

Definately going with the word "Sit" on this one. In InuYasha, how Kagome can just say the word "Sit" and it slams InuYasha to the ground... I would so love to do that.

Ghostmaster

Definately Paper from Read or Die or the Death Note book from Death note is a really cool creepy weapon. Or actually Bobobo's nosehair could take the cake on that one.

Would the Puu-chus from Excel Saga count with cuteness being a weapon?

It was pretty crippling for most of the characters (except Excel).

Or death by necktie?

EDIT: Damn, someone beat me to it.

2 more: Death by fork, and death by stolen toy truck. Noir has some really good ones there. Ooh, death by popcorn! Well......the popcorn doesn't kill them, but death resulting from popcorn.

Other than those, the only ones to come to mind are what's her faces lipstick in Kiddy Grade, and also the camera dude in Speed Grapher.....

Edit: And outside of Anime, I second Javer. Earthworm Jim is just cool full stop.

Almost everything in S-cry-ed was pretty nuts. Scripwriting? Balls? (<--- lol)

Also, wasn't there some random jobber in the Chunin arc in Naruto who had one of those paper umbrella and ball things? That was pretty wtf.

- Whiskey Bonbons (Monster): This just proves that you shouldnt take candy from strangers

Also, the one scene where there's a detective and a serial killer in the interrogation room. The serial killer asks the detective for his pen, then stabs it in his own head, preventing the detective from obtaining his information.

- Kenshin's sheath (Rurouni Kenshin): Sure, it can be used as a weapon, but the sheath is moreso meant for defense. It was just fun watching Kenshin own someone with his sheath when they though he couldnt react quick enough with his reverse blade sword.

- Vash's Revolver, without bullets (Trigun): I laughed in that one scene in the first episode, where Vash was reloading his gun, only to have someone appear in the distance with a gun. He panicked, threw the revolver, and knocked the guy out cold. Just when I thought the old concept of throwing your gun at someone when you've run out of bullets couldnt be anymore useless, Vash defied it.

- and even though it isn't from an anime (The Simpsons): Homer walks through a sewer tunnel reading a piece of paper and confronts a huge spider:

Homer: "To get past the spider's curse, you must recite a bible verse! Thou...shalt...not...aw screw it". Then we see homer pick up a rock, throw it, and hit the giant spider between the eyes, knocking it out cold.

A couple people have mentioned female characters' ability to disarm the otherwise undefeatable male hero (Kagome and SIT, Chidior's paper fan etc etc). Question is: are the words, fans etc actual weapons or is it just a matter of allowing the individual in question to control them? If this be the case wouldn't the ...love, respect, binding spell, direct military order etc be the weapon?

Umm, ROD does stands for Read or Die. You are aware of that, aren't you? It's just that the series is a sequel from its OVA predecessor.

Fanservice, it causes nosebleeds, and offers a distraction for any other attack to combine itself within the duration of male awe. Something like a kick or a punch for instance.

Screaming, any bad voice acting is a weapon that hurts me, and causes my consciousness to fade out.

The brush from Okami. You need nothing more than ink, the brush, and a steady hand to slash monkeys and creatures of darkness in half. Then you can made day in to night and vise versa, fix things, grow and/or control different plants, purify areas, control elements and make bombs.

And, of course, ROD's paper.

I wonder how many people have actually strayed off in this topic. I mean the question was about your FAVORITE weapon that isn't a weapon. The question wasn't "what's the weirdest weapon that's not a weapon".

And I also wonder why anyone hasn't mentioned game cards. Yes, game card's a la Gambit from X-men and stuff like that. It's been used in many hong kong flicks, american cartoons etc. and I'm pretty positive it must've been used in some animes as well.

Filler episodes can be detrimental to the development of a good series, and remain quite lethal when implied too often, or just rudely.

Recap episodes are the most dangerous of all, who needs that crap!?

Death by fork from Noir.
I don't particularly like that series, but that is quite thoroughly awesome.

I was thinking boobs, particularly as it relates to the male set, but I've been beaten to it.

I suppose the most awesome one would be the music box with the explosives in it from Cowboy Bebop. Cause, you know, music and explosions are my two favourite things.
