A nice one if you can find it: GetBackers.
The story doesn't suck completely, the characters have depth, and face it, an anime with someone who can crush a guy's face with his hand has got to be worth checking out.
Edit: Haha, face it. I made a funny and didn't even know it.

Well obviously Fullmetal Alchemist for its shounen designs combined with a compelling and mature story with great action and animation; Berserk for an action series with incredible characters, a riveting storyline and gallons of blood; Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo for action, great music and style; My-Hime for its appealing characters and splendid action and drama; and lastly, how about some Gundam? I recommend the original movie trilogy and Zeta, but I suppose if you want more modern production values, SEED isn't too bad.

Exactly. Exactly.
I'll give him Eureka Seven though. That series was awesome.

DVDs are bilingual, so there's no problem. However, Naruto just started being released and Bleach has not yet been released on DVD, so you may have some trouble with those unless you import or something.

I'd suggest Ghost in the Shell anime series if you want in lots of action. Also, try Hunter X Hunter since it's made by Togashi ( who also made YYH). And while you're at it, Final Fantasy: Advent Children ?

Maybe a bit of samurai? Ruroni Kenshin is another Shonen Jump title that might be interesting to you, though I never had a chance to finish it. Sometimes a change of pace may be better. You could try watching a type of anime you haven't tried. You seem to prefer action, so maybe a drama would be good? Even if you don't like English voice actors, you can just "sample" any of the many anime shows available on TV and then decide what to buy later.
...Berserk for an action series with incredible characters, a riveting storyline and gallons of blood...
I have found that guys who hate anime(for whatever reason) actually end up liking Berserk. It never fails. It may be because it reminds them of more "American" comics, like Spawn. I'm not exactly sure. But it's a good one, with pretty music.

Tyrdium, Roark and Kain:
Shame on thou!
You should be sculpting this lump of raw clay into an elaborate tapestry of anime sophistication.
Mixing metaphors ftw.

One Piece. o.O But don't watch the American Dub version because it is possibly one of the worst dubs in history. Try to stick with Japanese dubs for this one. (Not to mention 4Kidz cut out at LEAST 30 episodes of it)
Let's see. I agree with Naruto. If you like Inuyasha you may want to check out more of Rumiko Takahashi's work like Ranma 1/2 or Mermaid Saga. They may not be the same genre but they're still good.
Samurai Deeper Kyo...I'll be honest I didn't care much for this anime (But I didn't hate it) but that's not saying you wouldn't like it. The Twelve Kingdoms has the same theme as Inuyasha which is girl gets transported to another world, blah blah, but i personally think it's the best of it's type. =D Watch it, it has a slow start but it is AWESOME.

Don't sweat it. A lot of people think he's a girl 'coz of his clothes and attitude (i.e. 'watashi wa' instead of 'boku wa').
SIG>> Digimon Adventures (I will always love Digimon =D)
I wuvels Digimon too! ^^ Go Renamon!
