Nope. Actually ADV got a lot of their initial money selling hentai anime with titles like End of Summer and F3

Well technically 16+ is not hentai. I kind of noticed that older titles had higher age ratings on them then titles released now. For example I believe the Rurouni Kenshin movie and the Yu Yu Hakusho movie had 16+ ratings. If those titles were released now at the most they would be given 13+ ratings I think. I think this just shows a changing attitude towards anime.

Even Adult Swim lowered their age rating. I remember all shows had a warning for 18 and older but then they lowered the warning to 13 and older for most shows.

Yes, but SC's point was that other distributors aren't exactly squeamish about more adult-oriented material.

Let's see...
Bandai Visual has Devilman, DearS, HeatGuy J, Jin Roh

ADV has Battle Angel, Crying Freeman, Devil hunter Yohko, End of Summer, Gravion Zwei, Sakura Diaries

VIZ: Ogre Slayer, Saikano

So it is just a matter of numbers really. Maybe Geneon is putting its emphasis on the older anime enthusiast as a way to make themselves unique in the market, but the reality is every company not named AnimEigo has its share of more mature titles.

Even AnimEigo had Bubblegum Crisis 2033 (certainly not hentai, but equally not a show for children, either).

Adult Swim's minimum age is 14, not 13.

My mistake, although my point still stands that the age warning has decreased.
