Well I live in Canada -currently...but leaving hopefully Japan if I get into Tokyo U...yes I’m one of those IB nerds who has spent his entire life studying anything from music to languages to philosophy.
If I don’t get in...I’ll be going to Australia and the Australian National University
I know you were asking where we currently live - but Ill be gone in 2 months...so it seemed relevant

I dunno about that, but Louisville is really, really nice city. I visited there just a few weeks ago and fell in love with it.

It's a great place to live. It has a close proximity to nature, a diverse and tolerant populace, and a staggeringly low cost of living. People describe it as the largest small town in the world, because it has all the amenities of a big city and a lot of the friendliness and close-knit community of a small town. I love Louisville, and if you're thinking of moving here, I give it one of my highest recommendations. The downsides are the shitty air quality, the dearth of decent mexican restaurants, and the relatively slow night life. Living here can be dull at times, but dull in an idyllic, not a depressing, way.
P.S. The public radio here is some of the best in the nation.

The one thing that I loved about it is the fact that it is a city with character... not like most of the newer cities that all look kind of the same. THe older buildings are just gorgeous and some parts of town look like something out of a early 20th Century novel.
For those who visit the city, if you can afford to stay at the Brown hotel, I really, REALLY recommend it. The staff is quite nice and make you feel at home. Also, do a tour around the downtown area on a horse carriage, visit Churchill Downs and pay a visit to the Louisville slugger facility (actual real name of the company being Hillerich & Bradsby Company).
Seriously... if I could land a decent job there, I wouldn't mind moving there. It seems like an ideal place to raise a family, and I would help increase the latino population which right now represents less than 2% of the total around the city. ;)

Brisbane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisbane), Queensland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queensland), Australia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia).
So much better than Sydney but still a few rungs below Melbourne. All the other capital cities in the country don't matter. Except maybe Canberra, which is good for porn and fireworks.

San Jose, but I'll be in Chicago for a few weeks and San Luis in a couple of months.
Both Roark and I live in the west Chicago suburbs. Nothing too exciting. I was born in Alabama, but I only lived there for a very short time, so I consider Chicago my home.
