Okay My favourite Charactor in DBZ has got to be Vegeta, he's arrogant but he cares deep down and he is really powerful.
My Favourite episode is when Majin Vegeta sacrifices himself to defete Buu but Buu does not die!

What was your favourite saga? I didn't really have one

I loved the Sayan saga and the frieza saga because they introduced it from Dragonball and it had some of the most remembered part in it. Dont you think that its weird how for alll those years Krillin has no hair and he gives up and hey presto a full head of hair?

LMAO. If only it were true... but I am sure there must be many others still around.
Anyways, on retrospect (I WAS a pretty avid DBZ fan once upon a time), I think it would've been way better if it had stopped after Freezer, back then where there was only one Super Sayaying (sp?) and only two Henki Damas (BIG sp?) had been made.
Then again, I guess the death of Freezer in whatever that planet was called wasn't exactly the most climatic one ever, so maybe it wouldn't have been such a good ending, but it would've been better than to let the series keep going.

Not counting the last two posts, this is more like an AIM chatroom.
And in regards to the last post:
Frieza died on Namek.
The correct spelling is "Super Saiyan," and when they transform, it's usually called "going Super Saiyan."
The attack is called "Genki Dama."
Also, Akira Toriyama originally wanted to end DBZ with the death of Frieza, but the producers made him keep going in order to milk the franchise.

He wanted to end it after Cell too, but again, the editors made him keep going. Personally, I found the ending of the Namek arc a little lacking, and thought the series would have been better had it concluded with the Cell Arc.

Well, that's not strictly true. If you mean we don't get much anime on TV, sure, but there's an absolute ton of stuff available now. Five years back there was nothing but Manga Ent's selection of ultra-violent nonsense, but it's a completely different world now. I'd have killed for the amazing DVD selection we have nowadays back then. The only downside is it's expensive, but not quite so bad if you shop online. And speaking of online, fansubs are everywhere. No longer do we live in a world of just Dragonball Z. Anime's absolutely plentiful, you just need to know where to look.
Totally Spies isn't anime, though. >_>

Hey, I care about Dragonball. It was one of the first anime I watched, and continued watching. Although I don't like how they lengthened it to the point of utter boredom. Gotta agree with mangacreator though, the dragons were awesome enemies.

Maybe in The History of Trunks movie, but not in the main continuity. The movie go off in their different ways for whatever reason.

That's clearly the main continuity.
Definately not the best show in the world, but it does have a decent amount of nostalgia value, at least for my generation where growing up all the boys watched DBZ and all the girls watched Sailor Moon.

Sure it isn't, but I confess that I've been a fan and that was when I'm only 10yrs. old. After watching countless anime, I've come to realize that is far for being a best though its popularity is unquestionable.

Well, this brings back memories...
Yeah, I admit - I do watch DBZ every now and then; not because of the sake of enjoyment though, but more on the wonderful memories I had sitting in front of the tube for an average of 8 hours a day... I think this explains my partially-assertive demeanor my friends have been saying about me o_O"

It brings back memories indeed. I used to watch the French dubs on tv when I was 6 or 7 years old. 10 years later I found the funi ones online which started a path of geekiness that led me here.
The tv series is rather boring though... I can't believe I actually enjoyed sitting trough it one day. I do however love the manga up until the point of king Piccolo. It's one of the funniest things I've read until now. After that it goes downhill though. It really shows that Toriyama did it against his will.
Btw has anyone heard of Neko Majin Z? It's a hilarious parody made by mr. Toriyama himself. I'd post a link to scanlations but I'm not sure if it's against the rules or not.

It is against the rules, sorry hun ;)
And, hey, a good majority of anime fans our age grew up with DBZ. Hell, I used to write fanfiction for it :D Ironically, that's what led me here as well, in a kidn of roundabout way.
I always wanted to point out that Goku or anyone one going Super Saiyan was a social reference to how Japanese people view outsiders and their view of the ultimate gaijin. A blonde haired blue eyed Goku, who normally could not defeat his enemies (Freza on up) without changing. This could also be due to strong ties that Japan had with Germany, and narrow Japanese perceptions of the quintessential gaijin, America owning Japan after WWII, Japanese gaijin sycophania (which was still high during DBZ's airing) take your pick. I am just throwing this out there as it is the only thing that amuses me about this show nowadays.

But I thought that when Goku beat him, Goku stayed and trained in space then Trunks comes and tell the gang that Goku is coming they all sit there and wait with Vegeta with a Pink shirt on and Frieza comes down with King Cold and Trunks beats him no problem then Goku comes ???

Ahhh... that brings up some nostalgia in the form of memories. I was watching Sailor Moon long before I started watching DBZ (I think I watched Dragon Ball before Sailor Moon, though). To be honest, those were my good childhood days.
I once tried to watch a DBZ episode in Cartoon Network for nostalgia purposes... but I was disgusted instead. I had grown up on the Spanish dub; the heavy editing that I noticed in a single episode turned me off completely. The finisher was when Vegita was about to scape and Goku asked Krillin to spare his life; instead of the truly character inspired begging to allow him to fight with Vegeta once again, and a Krilling who reasonably struggles with such a request, I got some crappy "show him we are better" ending. That was it... I turned off the TV and saw no more.

I still like Dragonball Z not as much as when I first started watching it but that happens with everything. Times change and you get into new things. DBZ is certainly not a piece of art but I thought it was a lot of fun. I still love how the characters got older and had kids (the fact that Vegeta had a son was really what got me into the show in the first place.) DBZ definitely suffered the worst rap of any anime show. It was the show that got a lot of people into anime but it also got a lot of immature kids into anime who would claim that it was the greatest thing ever. Of course this got "anime" fans a little upset. But it came to the point that bashing DBZ was the cool thing to do and frankly it got a little annoying. Thankfully that has stopped but then the DBZ fandom is pretty much dead now.

Not here in the Philippines. Although it is annoying, a local station airs DBZ and other old, 'crappy' anime like Saiyuki. Kids still watch DBZ and go "ka-me-ha-me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaave!" ^^ Back when I was a kid, there wasn't much of that coz people weren't into anime. DBZ was one of those that got people into anime and other things Asian (Asian! not Western, for a change) and I love that about DBZ.
