Is there any good way to purchase raw manga in North America, even after it's liscenced? I want to buy all 4 Azumanga in japanese, but I can't find them anywhere.

The only place I ever bought raw manga was in an anime convention.

We used to have raw manga at Borders, but one day we went to buy some and it was all gone.
Gasp.
Try eBay. It's your friend.

This is were I get mine:
http://www.sasugabooks.com/
Great place and good service.
http://www.kinokuniya.com/
Kinokuniya is a company that sells Japanese manga and books. They appear a lot at anime conventions and the like. There may also be smaller run companies as well, so it's worth hunting around online.
That said, if you'd rather buy in person than online, anime conventions in and of themselves are great places.

Kinokuniya is a great place to buy from if you want to go to the store (I bought a lot of anime initially in my two trips I made to New York), but their manga selection is not as vast and thay may have to back order a lot of the stuff.
Sasuga specialty is online orders, so they have plenty of stuff in stock and they service backorders real fast. It happened to me when I bought a couple of volumes of Nana. They were backordered and arrived just 5 days after than the expected date.
Well, I've never ordered from Kino, but I have seen their con shops, and any book store that seems to have everything from Rose of Versailles to Pure Trance will impress me >>; The con shops are good, so I never expected their online store to be any different.

There is also Akadot retail http://www.akadotretail.com/shop/shop_search_cat.php?cat=books
Personally I get mine from www.amazon.co.jp because they usually get the newest books in the fastest (at least from my experience). But they have the most expensive shipping. If you are looking for older books Akadot is probably cheaper.
Also I love Kinokuniya. I've been in their store in San Francisco. They also have one in NY but I was never in that one. I am not sure about ordering from their online store though.

Are you sure Sasuga is legit? I bought a book there like three weeks ago and I haven't seen it yet.
I go to Sakura Mart but I don't know if that store is worldwide. It is made of everything Japan and is like a Japanese convenient store! I bought tons of raw manga there and I got a bento box AND traditional shoes that ****in kill your feet with little spiky things! ^-^ :sweatdrop

It might have been backordered.
They are legit. I have bought from them several times.
