I decided to give this show a chance because i have heard many things about it. From the episode i saw tonight, i was pleased. I thought it was hilarious, of course the dialogue was changed around a little bit (of course i have not seen the original jap. version of it, so i don't know what they took out, but it dosn't matter it was still funny). I was wondering what were peoples thoughts on this show if they have been watching it on Adult Swim?

hey, i missed that show! i found it really entertaining. a local network aired it, only to have it cancelled because parents were worried about how shin chan's attitude and one-liners were going to affect kids perception and all that. though it was re-dubbed in the local language, the show is universal in any language.

I saw that show some time ago. At first i was hesitating in watching it for the unusal artwork, but once you sat down and watch a whole episode it's pretty amusing seeing Chin chan make fun of people by simply "telling it like it is" or watching him dance with his pants down, he's like a japanese version of Dennis the Meanace.

I used to watch Crayon Shin-chan on a international channel when I lived in Hawai'i. I found it very entertaining for the time. Never saw any dubbed format. I'd be afraid to. Oh Mikey might be worth looking into if you haven't already. You can sample it at Youtube.

Oh Mikey! Is just bizarre and creepy.... I was surprised to find them selling it in the States now >_>;

As for CS-C, yeah, I can see Cartoon Network picking it up. It has a dirty little kid kind of humour that seems to be popular these days. Never cared for it much meself, but enough people must for them to be showing it and still showing it.

The movies that I saw are funny too. i think in the context of Japanese culture Shin chan is hilarious. Someone (a child no less) speaks whatever is on his mind even to the point of brutal honesty, and does anything he likes. Although the flashings and moonings do get old after awhile. It is a pretty long series as it is still playing in Japan at 7:30pm.

If I see Ench-Man and/or Action Bastard on Who Wants to Be a Superhero, I'm going to crap myself.

Adult Swim MUST pick up this show for good!

And in the words of Chris Sabat:

LESBIANS!

Shin-chan started its test run on Saturday (August 19). The dub has been Americanized for US audiences (because we won't understand Japanese puns), and so far it's hilarious.

I recall rading a couple of the mangas back when it was licensed by comicsONE (before they suddenly disappeared). and it was an extremely funny read. I haven't seen the anime yet, but if it's as good as the manga, it's likely to stay.
