I question this, how can going back to school be a celebration? Mainly people going to college, (tech college for me).
EDIT: risen hell fire: Nah, he did it out of good intentions. I think it's kinda nice anyways =)
Yes it's thoughtful but I myself don't care much for school, I onyl go there because I have to and to talk to my friends

Wow, how thoughtful :halo: ...!
Same for you, NausicaaBoy. Work hard, don't give up and lay off the anime during school hours. Best of luck for your high school days :o !

THanks... I did it thinking specifically on all the little people who have fits about mods, bans and other things that in the grand scheme of things should represent about oh... .0000000001% of your worries.
In fact, I would worry about having to start doing homework again, specially if I was between the ages of 15 to 18.

Read: Haha! School is starting again! Prepare to start hating each day with growing intensity! Try not to cut your wrists with a ruler, and drown your sorrows in hentai.
I'm glad to be going back to school, but my school sucks but I am entering as a Junior. That means I only have 2 more years of crap before I can move onto college-level crap.

Woah there. Don't wet yourself with excitement now.
I'm kinda happy that school's started. At least I don't have to transfer
...even if I didn't get into my Culinary Regional Occupation Program.
...and I'm in danger of not graduating.
...and it's only been two days, yet my British Literature teacher has already assigned major shit.
...and I'm in algebra for the third year in a row...with the same damn teacher.
...and...you get the point
It's the thought that counts though, I guess.

My high school started again on the 16th. I made sure to get up early...
So I could watch from my deck at all the little losers fighting traffic and driving/getting a ride/taking the bus into the campus. I start college at the local CC on the 28th. :D

I don't mind school. I get to actually see people. And eat. They make you food there.
And, people give you free alcohol at school. If you know where to look. Ah, how I miss those blissfully drunken Friday nights...

Man, I miss school. I would be starting my junior year of college this month but can't... must learn Danish faster to get accepted. >:O
Seriously it gets boring. College rocked. For all those starting college for the first time: It's way better than high school so don't stress. :D Unless your Uni sucks. >_>

My college and its location kinda blows :(
:( :( :(
But they say I'll get hired like by 40 companies the minute I get a degree from this damned school.
Then after 1-2 years I'll just quit and play music the rest of my life >.>

Hell yes, it is. I may be in a room with four other guys but I'll be damned if that stops me from having fun.
High school... sucked. College... sucked, but then again, I went to a college that didn't mesh with my personality well (small, bitchy, Catholic, expensive, and filled with all together too many frat boys and rap music). I'll be attending a community college next year for some language courses, but, for now, I'm going to enjoy all the benefits a working person can enjoy... namely making fun of the people my own age who still have to do homework >.>;; Teeheehee...

I start community college on September 6th, for now I'm commuting, though I'm not looking forward to taking 5 courses and work. I just hope that I'll manage by and get everything I needed done with essays, homework, notes, tests, etc.
Good luck to those either going back to school or headed off to college this year.

This whole undergraduate thesis thing that I have to do this year is scaring the bejeezus out of me. Oh well, anything will do if it gets me into graduate school.
Yep, I want as much school as possible. It certainly beats working full time.
Working full-time isn't bad at all. You actually end up spending less time with work than you do with school, and, unlike schooling, you actually GET money instead of spending money. Maybe it's just me, but I like not being poor...

I don't have to go back to college until September 6th, so I've still got exactly 2 weeks left. I'm not really looking forward to going back, as it's a huge stress fest to clear all these courses that give you tests worth 30% of your grade, but I am looking forward to it since it's my last year. Which means, if I pass this year, then I never have to go to school again, and get a nice college degree (and a laptop computer for a graduation present) along with that.
I better soak up as much fun as I can until then.

I suppose I could give it the old college try...again.
I'm startin fresh since I didn't do so well at Mission College. Guess I didn't like it. So instead of goin for the hospitality managment major, I'm goin for business managment and accounting. And the courses at my new school are self paced so I have problems with that.
This is my second week back in school. Just entered high school and I'm starting to think i was better off in middle school. As far as I see, high schools only been heavy books and suprize quizzes every other day.

JW Im accepted into those Unis and Im trying to pick -- it was really just a chance in a million that someone might go to one or have gone to one to give me an inside review - - or mayb give me the tour if I decided to attend that specific institution... but anyway it was a little off topic *srry*

In high school I found it nearly impossible to get bad grades. I realized that if I didn't do any work, the teachers couldn't find anything that I did wrong. I only got bad grades when I was stupid enough to actually do something.

My anime club's loaded with Naruto, Bleach and Gundam fanatics and geeks... and they're making me less hesitant to quit the club =P
My anime club in high school was filled with a bunch of stereotypical Gaia users, DBZombies, a whole lot of people who only came to ditch Speech Club, and about.... 4 or 5 actually decent people, of which I was one. The best thing we ever did was do a mass-group drawing of a... thing that would be our mascot, and it ended up being a schoolgirl with big tits and a tentacle for an arm. We also gave her a love interest named Toji, who we wrote a theme song to based on the Trogdor song from Home Star Runner.
Ah, good times.
At least it was better than the Aniem Club for my second high school which was run by a bunch of furry yaoi fans -_-; I didn't even go to those.

Yeah I went to that workshop also I got the really cute Girl. Who turned out to be a superBitch. We all stopped after the first wave. A Bitchstorm was in effect.
I am going back this fall due to the fact that my Grandfather died of cancer so it was kinda hard with all the things going on my life, I had to spend a week in a mental ward weeks after his funeral. I'm normal now.

As for me, I go back to school.... NEVER!
Yush... No more school! Graduation ceremony on October, but technically, I'm now a qualified Telecommunications Engineer. 17 years of my life spent studying *shivers*
I certainly won't be missing those exam cram sessions and assignments that caused ulcers in stress.

I'm actually looking forward to the start of the semester, which is the day after Labor Day for me. I get to see my East Coast buds again, I've managed to snag a fabulous job tutoring younguns, and my courseload is Linguistics 101, Intermediate Japanese, Myth and Fairytale, and Intro to Computers, the last of which is a total bird course.

Let me add a slight addendum to my post before. School's fun. School internet is not.
They make it nearly impossible to connect to the internet, and once you do, they decide you can't have the internet for too long in one consecutive block. And, they block ports like crazy. IRC, among other things, are blocked (hence no Yoda at #AA), but hopefully I should have that taken care of by tomorrow.
On the flip side, my floor rocks. Like, really. Also, I can finally take Japanese (after three years of not being able to). And it seems like we got a really cool influx of Freshman this year (one of whom I accidentally shot in the eye with a Nerf gun, but it really was an amazing shot!).
Anyway, I have been inspired by Lady Sage. Here's my class schedule:
- Japanese 101
- VHDL (designs and describes hardware)
- VLSI (something to do with transistors and stuff, and fabrication of integrated circuits, I think.)
- Discrete Mathematics
- Senior Project (like, we get to build stuff. Cool electronic stuff. With the big companies covering the tab.)
All in all, it looks like it's going to be a fun semester! Especially considering the fact that two of my courses are offered the same exact time, and I'm traveling to another campus twenty minutes away for one of my courses. It's good to spice things up.
Oh, and I work in a place that records graduate level engineering classes for distance learning students, and streams those lectures online. The class I'm recording this semester seems like it will be interesting ("Intro to Real-Time Embedded Systems"), which should be right up my alley.
All in all, it looks like it's shaping up to be a good semester. 'Cept for the internet. I hate the internet here. :(

I really like my new uni. I'm off to studying animation to another city, and having finally found a flat for me there and seeing what the new school is like, I'm really looking forward to the coming 4 and some years. It's a school with a fine reputation, and they offer some of the best facilities and staff for educating greenhornes into becoming animation pro's someday. My class of 14 people seem alright. Not a single jerk or total retard found among my new classmates so far, granted some are 6 years younger then I am, straight out of high school and with no experience of the industry so far.
As soon as I get properly settled and get all my finances straighten out, I'm sure it'll be one cool ride. I also hope to experience (at some point) domestic and foreign film festivals and ultimately the foreign exchange program, all in time.
