Has anybody seen this movie I hit up most popular anime forums and did a search its either hardly mentioned or not mentioned at all not even the manga (not sure if the manga is any good though). I don't know if I just plain suck at the search feature but I think it’s a very good anime movie and deserves a thread just to get awareness out. It’s not your typical otaku type stuff more art house kind of movie. But it’s still worth the watch since I'm not good at making a review I'll just post links to other people's opinion.
Mind Game (2004) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452039/)
Mind Game (movie) (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4363)
Mind Game (2005) (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10005751-mind_game/) <--- I don't know why it says 2005 maybe that was the U.S. rellease
and for those who actually seen the movie is there any more like it? The guy who did this film did Cat Soup and apparently is the key animator in Samurai Champloo

Unbelievable, so there are people out there who have seen Mind Game? Amazing. Being the unofficial Studio 4C (and Masaaki Yuasa) fangirl here I can really agree with you about the whole "deserves a thread just to get awareness" part. Mind Game is one of my favorite films of all time, and it's really saddening that so few people have even heard about it.
It was never released in the US, but the Region 2 DVDs contain English subtitles if you are interested in importing it. Also, Maasaki Yuasa did not direct the Cat Soup OVA, he was involved in plenty of aspects, but Tatsuo Sato directed it. He also did pretty much the whole Vampiyan Kids pilot but some one else who's name escapes me directed the actual series. Mind Game was his first work as the main director and currently he is directing the TV series Kemono Zume, which has a very similar visual style to Mind Game. He is also going to direct a short clip for the upcoming Studio 4C visual anthology Genius Party, but I cannot confirm this, since his name seems to be removed and added from the project virtually every week. You could also watch Noiseman Sound Insect, or most of Studio 4C's experimental works for that matter, they all have that 'art house' flare that other anime don't have.

thanks for the info, I hope more anime fans find this movie
This was an excellent movie, totally hit me by surprise. And the gramps is voiced by Fujii Takashi the actor who plays Mathew in Mathew's Best Hits TV, he was the Johnny Carson of Japan in "Lost in Translation", and Ryo his real life version is played by Gusan (don't know his full name) another comedian.
This may or may not be right since so much happens within the movie but I think the Yakuza (not the football player one) was in love with Myon's mother but was taken by the same man (Myon's father) that took the football yakuza's girlfriend+ World Cup tickets.

I think I looked up the animatrix on google and somehow found a page about Mind Game. That made me end up downloading it on bittorrent. And then I bought it from superhappyfun.com and since it isn't licensed, you won't get sued for sharing it. I enjoyed it so much that it brought me back to my own childhood, when I read a short story about a colony of people who get eaten by this giant passing by but they are saved before swallowed by the other people there. They drill holes in the mollars to make houses. Yeah, I ended up doing a powerpoint in school about Mind Game. And then after that I did a powerpoint on last generation's video cards, the current generation of video cards, and then the next generation of 3D cards. Every computer in the lab has integrated 3D, so people were just happy with using computers that don't have video cards. I guess I should have had this smiley before I presented the whole thing:ewspam:

This movie was a shocker for me... I could not quite believe just how much entertainment I got out of it. The transition from meldramatic, to trippy, to downright "pee in your pants" laughter deserves a score of 12 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Quite honestly I didn't see a point. But it just really struck me as not needing one. Well, that's at least from a deep perspective. From face value, it's really no more than some dude who's fed up with how life was treating him and ends up in very, err, odd predicaments.
