I arranged the frames wrong but I was too lazy to start over especially since this is merely a test animation (I don't wanna ink and color until I can tell that she's actually walking). So I made her do a backwards walk (moonwalk? LOL).

Note that I'm a graphic designer and not an animator.
I'm merely guessing how this animating thing works....
and surprisingly I think it looks good!!!
I'm so so happy^^

No I'll print the images out (13 frames) and trace them since I thought it'd be faster that way.

I hope my mid term project turns out well.
I'm so excited XD

Anyway enjoy the short clip^^

What are you shooting this in? Its pretty smooth, nice. Her whole body looks like it shifts in and out of proportion. The front leg looks like its kicking back. Her feet are sliding because they are flat on the ground too long, they should only be that flat for 1 frame. There should be some flexibility in her feet, this is one of the most important factors when creating a walk cycle.

You should draw your 5 basic Key poses first
1st Drawing: Back leg should be a pivet foot
2nd Drawing: Back leg should lay flat, and the front should point downward
3rd: Font leg pivet (trace back 1st drawing just switch the legs and arms)
4th: Front leg lay flat (trace back 2st drawing just switch the legs and arms)
5th: Stop

4 basic positions http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/kiyone110/walk.jpg A quick crappy scketch drawn by me. Or you could use this.

Of course you have to add all the in betweens, but this can be a start. You can also trace back a lot of your in betweens. This is great first start.

EDIT: Proof Read

Gotta add something to Kiyone's message. You can create something more subtle than that. You don't need to exaggerate the movement if you don't think it fits your character. But She makes a good point with the keyframes. Besides, exaggeration is a good way of learning the basics. You seem to be comfortable with working with the comp, so why not do the coloring with PS or the like? It's a good, fast way of getting visible results, plus you can manipulate the colors (and coloring) as much as you like afterwards.

not to bad....question...why is she walking backwards? ahah im jsut messing with you. No its decent. Kepp in mind the the whole upper body moves with the compression and decompression of the lower.
