The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya manga

hi i dont know whether anyone has posted about this yet but i am wondering whether any one knows of this series. i am quite certain there is such a manga since i checked it in animenfo and animenewsnetwork, i was also able to get scans of it off the net but i am unable to buy the manga over here. i have asked the local comic shop owner but he told me there was no such series, only the novels. any one knows whether the manga series are available in jap or in chinese or any other translation?

Alright, so I did some snoopin around for ya and this is what I found. Two seperate series of a Haruhi manga were started. The first one was started in May of 04 but discontinued in Dec of the same year. The only reason I found was that it didn't exactly go with the oroginal idea the author of the novels was going for. Only one volume was put out. The second series started last year in november and is still running with two volumes out at the moment. The only raw I found had the heading of "Ch 1-17" but I'm not sure which series it was for and I didn't download it since I can't read japanese. The target audience of the manga seems to be a younger age (trying to get a larger fan base).
