I presented the question once and no answered, so I'm trying again ^_^:
I want to change one of my novels into a manga, but I am only concerned about the writing part. Does anyone know how I would go about converting narrative to manga or comic format?

Drawing might help.

Seriously, if you've already got a novel, what more writing do you need to do? Do you mean storyboarding and such, and shortening narrative dialogue to better fit comic form?

For me, I just go about spreading out my content into panels. For example, the first page of your novel will have a ton of words, but when making a manga, I'll spread that one novel page into about 5 manga pages. Next, I write the script:

Page 1:

Panel 1: Joe walks down the street

Panel 2: Joe bumps into Bob

Joe: "Hey Bob"
Bob: "Hey Joe"

Panel 3:

(Joe pulls out his wallet): "Wanna go get a coffee? My treat"

Panel 4:

Bob: "No. I want to get wasted"

Panel 5:

Joe: "I told you to lay off the bottle and funnel. Now what part of coffee dont you understand? COFFEE!"
Bob: "BEER?"

Panel 6:

Joe: "C...O...!"
Bob: "B...E..."

Page 2:

Panel 1: (and so forth).

Yeah, I know, it's a stupid example, but that's the format I use, and it's worked out well for me. Basically, just reformat your novel, to describe what's happening in the panels in each page and you should be fine.

Ahahaha. We catch on sooner or later.

Still, it's hard to believe that a guy my age already has a novel published. o_O
