did any1 like the cinematic scenes from FFX? i thought they were amazingly realistic... they should make a move based on FFX and FFX2 that uses the same styles as the cinematics from FFX and FFX2.. In advent children its similar but it just doesnt seem the same...

Why? Things are pretty much wrapped up in that storyline, IIRC.

Yeah... but it still would be nice to watch the whole thing in movie form.. i hate annoying battles and low graphic cutscenes

They already made 2 movies. The movies were called Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2.

Now if only someone would make a Xenosaga movie...

If its the cinemas from FFX you want to see, its just a matter of purchasing the movie spheres once you finished the games, thats way cheaper than making a whole movie, plus the secret ending from FF X2 killed the ending from FFX.

sarcasm.

I wouldn't mind some new Dragon's Lair or Space Ace, though.

I would hope that it gets to a point where no one ever thinks about making perfectly good videogames into crappy movies. Videogames are quickly becoming a more advanced, cinematic brand of media. A good videogame with a good, decently paced plot can already be preferred over some half-worked film.

No, but they did make a movie of someone playing the game...

We are already WELL past that point. see: Boll, Uwe

And films still have the edge as cinematic media. A good game is better than a bad movie, but a good movie is usually better than a good game as a storytelling medium. As of yet, there is no gaming Casablanca.

Eh, I don't know. They both have different advantages to them. A movie might be better at graphics and visual immersion, but video games can also immerse you in their 'world' in a way that movies can't. At the end of the day, they're just different ways of telling the same stories.

...I'm with you on the movies though. (And Silent Hill looked like it might be decent too! *siiiigh*)

Silent Hill was good.

As for another FF movie, no, I don't want to see anymore of those. I wish Square would stop trying to milk profits out of their already-huge series by creating all these little sequels, prequels, spin-offs and movies. Leave them alone already, they work fine as games.

Actually, no other FF game really deserved more to have a movie version like FF7, not because it's one of the most popular FF games out there, but because that movie finally gave a conclusion to the story. But still, they really did overdid it with the action scenes, some of them were to long.

I dont think that there's really a movie based game out there that's better than the game itself.

It's been a long time since I played it, but from what I remember, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the game's ending to begin with. Did it really need two spin-offs and a movie? Everything I heard/read/saw about the "additions" made it seem like they were hardly concerned with expanding the story and just wanted to make money off of FFVII's popularity.

The ending showed that they defenetly saved the world from Meteor, but it was left unclear if the main characters survived(or the rest of humanity for that matter). The movie not only showed what happened to the cast, but also dealt with some of the issues from the game, like Cloud blaming himself form Aeris's death, the Geostigma appearing as a consequence of the last battle and gives a satisfying ending to it all, so now there's really no need for sequels. The spin off OVA Last Order had some great quality to it, but tooked a lot of libertieswith the story and was a lot different than the game.

I think FFX would've been better if the main lead wasn't such a girly-man and the voicework was a little better.

Exactly. Tidus=a chick. There was no evidence to suggest otherwise.

Tidus was pretty cool, he made way to one of the saddest FF endings ever. And he also appears in Kingdom Hearts, only that they gave him big ass Dysney shoes and his name was changed to Sora.

Tidus was in Kingdom Hearts. He was the dude brandishing a red stick on Destiny Island.

FFX's ending was sad, but I liked FFVIII's ending better.

Doesnt mean Tidus is male, just means he could be into the same gender. What a crybaby... Couldn't even stand up to his bastard father.

What I'm trying to say is that I know Tidus is a man, it's just that he is so absolutely pathetic.

Still, I like Squall (FFVIII) a lot better anyway.

Well... yeah, the engine designs behind the whole thing seemed more amped and clear to me. FF:AV is of a newer generation with more powerful technology so there lies the difference. As for a FFX/X-2 movie, I don't really see a point to one either unless they create the cinematic scenes into a movie that wouldn't seem so nostalgic to the actual game and was a little different somehow...

Squall was also a woman.

Both Squall and Tidus are not woman (I'm sure you know this, was trying to be sarcastic, eh?). LoL

Indeed.

I KNOW Tidus and Squall aren't really women, it's called sarcasm. The point I was trying to make was that they are both total crybabies. The only thing good about Squall was his gunblade.

PS: The "Draw system" sucked majorly.

1. I thought Squall was a real man who can kick Cloud's sorry butt.

2. The draw system rocked.

Squall, a man?? Highly improbable. All he ever did was think too much, fail to act, and cry about it when it all went sour. Half of what he had to say was in thought bubbles. At least Cloud was confident enough to go after Sephiroth from the start.

Yes, but Cloud was a pathological liar who claimed to have been a member of SOLDIER, rather than a botched Sephiroth clone.

Squall cried a grand total of once in the entire game.

Well, lets see, stuck in a lab being experimented on with God knows what and coming out with a perfect memory of who you are.....I don't think it would be too easy to do. It's not so much lying as it is mistaken identity.

Well, he had a pretty good idea as to what was going on in that incident when Sephiroth set Nibelheim on fire. Cloud claimed that he was Sephiroth's SOLDIER partner, when it was really Zack and Cloud was just a Shinra guard.

Like I said, mistaken identity is the case here.
