All right, people. First and foremost, it feels good to be back here. Makes me feel all mushy inside with nostalgia. I come to you with a plea for advice. I have a novel which is screaming to me 'Make me into a Manga!', and I'm inclined to agree with that strange voice. I'm not going to draw it, of course. A nerve-dead chimpanzee with broken fingers could make my best art look like sidewalk scribbles. What I want to do is write it. So my question is, how do I convert the novel format into a manga format? Is it anything like screenplay? Screw these formalities:
SOMEONE HELP ME. PLEASE!

I'd think it would look more or less like a screenplay. You'd want to add in descriptions of what each frame looks like if necessary, though.
Oh, and most artists will probably want to see a very good prototype before agreeing to work on it.

Ah, I see. Makes sense. Now all I need to do is learn how to screenwrite.
...I'm screwed.:hanged

Might be useful to learn. ;)
I would think that you play the story out in your head and write down what happens. I've never written a screenplay before, though.
This should probably go in Art Class, by the way. General Manga is more for actual manga.

if you see some manga, they have some pictures in boxes over laping a background drawing. Preparing a description of how each work can help. If you want to, you can get some practice in doing very rought sketches (ie stick figures, etc) but have most of the detail in the box locations and speach location.

Yes. My manga scripts are more or less like:
Page 1:
Panel 1: (Car zips along)
Panel 2: (Nell is driving while Meg is queezy)
Meg: Nell, could you slow down a bit?
Nell: We're almost there!
Panel 3: (Distance shot of office building)
Panel 4: (Meg is green)
Meg: I think I'm going to throw up.

Go into insane amounts of detail describing the setting and actions of the story. Not only will it let them know you're serious, but it'll help ease the burden o deciding what way to draw something for the artist.
