Well before I post my "other" after effects video, I thought I'd share my very first vid on my first time with after effects.

Just to show my teacher that I understood all that scaling, movement, and opacity thing that is our current topic.
Too bad that I'll only have a Flash Animation class next quarter T_T
Anyway
Enjoy^^
PS: Music is "Dog Fighter" from the original Macross (still the best of the bunch^^)

Heh, kinda cool to see some animation around here. Although I have to admit not much happened in the clip. Was it supposed to be a Dog Fight afterall? My first impression was they were saying "Y Halo Thar!" to each other then murderous massacre ensues!!

I don't know anything about After Affects (other than the adds I used to see in the CompUSA flyers years ago... that's the thing with the alien, right?). What is the program normally used to do? Since I don't know anything about the program, I can't say whether that is good or bad. However, knowing your abilities with art, I'm going to assume it's really good. How long did it take you?

If you're trying to show both scaling and movement, wouldn't you want to show the guy moving closer to and further away from the "camera?" As it is now, they slide offscreen before they get bigger and smaller.

How long did it take you?Adobe After Effects is a post production tool and compiler. It's mainly used to create special effects for movies and tv-shows, but it's also a very commonly used software in the animation industry thanks to it's useful features in animation manipulation and the way you can compile stuff together. It supports all adobe file formats (direct support for Photoshop and Illustrator layers make basic frame by frame animation very easy) and comes equipped with a huge range of effects and tools for editing images and video.
I had to learn AE when I entered the industry, and today I couldn't imagine doing animations without it.
