Review: There comes a time in every man's life where he watches movies that make him laugh. There are also times when a man watches movies that bring him to tears. There are also very few times when a man watches a movie that lets him connect and relate to the characters portrayed on screen. However, there will only be one time when a man will witness all of these incredible emotions being conjured from a single film. This, ladies and gentlemen, is that very film.

Junkers Come Here is a rare treat, indeed. When you've seen an anime and the only flaw that comes to mind is that the writers could have been more concise, you know that the animation studio is doing something right. I don't even know where to begin to rave about this movie, to be honest. First off, the writer and musical composer of the film, Kine Naoto, has outdone himself. Not only does his novel inspire this touching story, but his music is nothing short of beautiful. Real You, Another You and Winter Comes Around, the two insert songs, are among the best songs I've heard in a movie soundtrack.

Second, when it comes to animation, Bandai Visual is usually no slouch. Here, they have created a visual masterpiece with artwork remniscient of a children's book and animation that more than hints at a fat budget, all the while complementing the musical score to create a heartwarming atmosphere. The story itself revolves around issues that Disney movies wouldn't dare touch, such as divorce and absent parentism, for example. In doing this, they created a film with issues which most children can identify with. The characters are all very well-written, and make a great impression on the story. Even the side characters, who may only get 5-10 minutes of total screen time, play a major role in the end.

I could go on all day about the highlights and beauty of this film, but since I can't keep you here that long, I'll just move on to the one flaw of this film: I love every scene to death, but I can't quite get rid of the feeling that some of them were a tad unnecessary. They may be good for a laugh or a tear, but there are scenes that impede the flow of the movie and cause it to feel quite long-winded for a children's movie. However, if you're like me and not in such a rush to get through movies quickly, the extra time spent watching won't bother you at all.

With that being said, I highly recommend you see Junkers Come Here. Unless you have a claustrophobic fear of heartwarming children's films or talking dogs, you have absolutely no reason to pass this movie up. Local Suncoast charging you $30.00 for it? It's your money, but I can say this confidently: It's damn worth it.

No intentions of offending Sae, a good review's always a good learning experience for readers, as they say.
