okay i didnt know if anyone might know of the goth-loli (gothic lolita) band called Malice Mizer? I just heard them a week ago and they ROCKED in my opinion! My favorite song of theirs is Gardenia and they are a J-pop band!

Malice Mizer. Aaah, Malice Mizer. I have a funny relationship with them - they have a lot of good songs, but sometimes I find it a bit too hard to take them seriously. A lot of their music seems consist of gothic cliche box-checking, but that's not to say they're bad, because they're certainly not. They're definitely the best thing Mana has done, especially considering Gackt's involvement with them...although I prefer Klaha >_>
It's a shame they disbanded, but they want out at their peak - 'Beast of Blood' and 'Gardenia' are some of their best work, and Merveilles is a genuinely fantastic album.

oh no.....the broke up?! :whine: i didnt know that! tho it makes sense since their last thing on their site was like 2003-2004 i think.....lol that's terrible. YET what did Gackt do?
Gackt was a one time vocalist for Malice Mizer. He does solo work, now.
He's a good singer, but, personally, I prefered Klaha, too...

Oh yeah, quite a few years ago now. 2001, I think.
Gackt was their second singer - he did the vocals on their Voyage and Merveilles album. Then he went solo and Klaha replaced him. They actually sound very similar, but I prefer Klaha's general "look"...not sure why, he just fitted in with the band better.
Mana's still with his latest project Moi dix Mois, who released their third album a few months ago. They're a bit rubbish, and I fear Mana may just be a gothic one-trick pony. :(

Yeah, just Gackt and his band. He's released six or so albums since he left, all of which have seen a steady decrease in quality. You'd be best of checking out his first three works MARS, Rebirth and MOON.

oh....i c! that's pretty cool i suppose!^-^ he's so pretty! lol (if that sounds right lol). btw..........I JUST WATCHED THEIR MOVIE ON YOU TUBE!!!(Bridal Of Rose or the Japanese title which i forgot) and it turns out that the one i was crushing on was Klaha not Gackt yet i STILL think Gackt is super cool. does anyone know what happened to Klaha after they broke up? or Mana? or Yu~Ki? or the other dude? or anyone? lol

Other people already told you about Mana, who went on to join Moi dix Mois. As Trem said, though, that band kind of really sucks.
I'm glad to find that I'm not the only one who prefers Klaha to Gackt as the vocalist of Malice Mizer.
As for Gackt... I like his voice, but his eyes creep me out. And the only two solo songs I like from him are "Emu ~for my dear~" and "Lu:na." I can't get into anything else he sings, which is a shame, since I really do think his voice is awesome.

I second to that. I myself don't remember seeing any of the Malice Mizer members wearing any maid suits (as connoted through "loli-goth" phrase). Do any of you?

The Malice Mizer outfits were more of a Gothic Aristocrat than a Gothic Lolita.

Yup, that's more like it. Loli-Goth is usually associated with the ladies, if I ain't wrong...
I've seen men who do the Lolita thing, but generally it's easier to pass off as female with the Aristocrat look because of how the clothing fits.
