(This is that 'other style' I was talking about BTW)

Hmmm. The style's a good start, but it needs some work. Your characters look a bit... lumpy? And naked. Clothing is good.

LOL. Well just think of it as a 5-minute type of thing. I'm going to edit it a little later.

(They don't have clothes because I usually color them and it saves me ink if I only color their faces.)

(They don't have clothes because I usually color them and it saves me ink if I only color their faces.)... huh? I don't quite follow.

The art looks hastily drawn, but it's simple and crisp, so it's justified (in my opinion, at least).

I love the content; it made me laugh. You have great use of facial expressions to minimize unneeded dialogue.

It looked well done. but just a few minor details the clothing and mostly the shapes of the figures your drawing in the first panel it looked almost like a blob.

lol I love it...maybe try adding some clothes and color. I like it kinda chibi..but not really! =)

jeannie in super-deformed mode! haha, i feel for you..(the number of times that happened to me..)
it's simple and content-wise, i loved the story. colors are appreciated, and so are details. but the chibi style is great. just cover yourself next time =^^=v

I've made a follow up to that story with my response to the clothes issue. I'd love to color it but colors cost money and I hate Crayola...

Try and use a paint program to colour them then =P

and you mean you guys on't sit at your PCs naked and sweaty ~_~
:P

I like it. It's not everyday you see a comic about a nudist family. The artwork is simple, yet charming. Like what previous posters have suggested, some color would be nice. If you don't have Photoshop or anything, just lift some crayons from art class. Tell the teacher that Timmy ate them.

Clothing is good.

WRONG

The problem isn't the lack of clothes, it's the lack of BREASTS!

Cute comic, I like the simplicity of the drawings. It didn't really notice they weren't wearing clothes until it was mentioned, but its fine. Take "Home Movies" all of their clothes were meshed together, and the designs were lumpy (the story sucked though -_-). Lumpy is okay if apart of your style.

Simple. Thats the word I was lookin for to describe your comic. Simple is not bad at all, it's rather a good term to use to descibe something like this. If you got any character sketches for the characters you draw, I'd like to see them. That way either the viewers or I can see your drawing style.

It isn't too bad - the facial aspects seems okay, but I wouldn't stop just there if I were you. Keep improving all the departments to that comic. Good try though...

Okay, so I took everyones advice and colored it with markers... big ****ing mistake. First off, it smeared onto my fingers and fudged some of the pictures... Second, I didn't have the right colors. Tyrdium look arabic and I look... well... orange. Third, because of that I decided not to fully edit it because it would just look awkard.

Anyway, ignore the flaws and enjoy the comic. (I had this sitting around for WAY to long...)

The color doesnt look so bad, it sort of fits with that type of cartoonish art style, like Crayon Shin Chan, but what was the deal with the Panda at the end?

Jeannie
07-24-2006, 03:33 PM
Ah, the panda represents Ojii-san, who will make an appearance in the next installment.

Well I like the joke you made about the whole clothing deal, and from what I see you definitely did a decent job on the coloring. I can't tell but is that supposed to be a bra Tyrdium tripped over? I like your drawing style, though it could use some work some here and there, especially with the hands since they're just roundish blob. Where are the fingers? ^.^

Other than that it's pretty good, I would like to see what you come up with in your comic next.

This one is a bit weird, but cute none the less. You got a little snicker out of me. The coloring looks fine and I like the chibiness of you style, though I do agree with SB on the hands. No big deal really, they just look a little freaky in my opinion. Other than that, you did are pretty good job. Keep them coming. ^_^

Heh, amusing. Your coloring in the later panels looks absolutely fine. I like the art style, as well. The simplicity works well for this kind of comic.

Jeannie

Well, if you look in the first frame... I'm watching PowerPuff Girls so just think of it as that kinda of animation.

Yes that was a bra he tripped over.

No worries, the feet and hands are both blobs. Why? Because I suck at drawing fingers and when I draw the feet on those people they look off balance so... blobs it is.

Thank you all for your comments on the coloring/editing. I was more worried about that than anything (I didn't even want to post it because I thought it looked like crap.)

The next installment should be out by... hmmm... give it 2 weeks max since I'm coloring and editing. Peace out.

A panda for Ojii-san? Sounds a little like Ranma 1/2, don't you think?

Anyways, look better with color this time... I never knew chibi and nudity goes hand-in-hand...

Yodatsubato
07-25-2006, 09:58 AM
...so this comic series will be our chance to see everyone in AA naked? I just... don't know what to say...

(They don't have clothes because I usually color them and it saves me ink if I only color their faces.)
You've lost your excuse, girl. :anghorn:

Anyway, good job. There're spelling/grammatical flaws, but I can suspend my need for proper Engli5h skills for just long enough to enjoy a comic.

Oh, and don't worry about the smearing too much. It's hardly noticeable (with the exception of with Ojii-san, and even then one is intrigued by what a panda can possibly do to stain his coat that shade of red).

Anyway, good job. There're spelling/grammatical flaws, but I can suspend my need for proper Engli5h skills for just long enough to enjoy a comic.Even that wasn't too bad. All I noticed were some missing commas and "to" instead of "too".

... though I think I'd probably be wondering where my clothes went, covering myself, and averting my eyes.

One minor nitpick, other than the grammar: almost nobody (myself included) uses things like "OMG" in actual speech. Try saying the dialogue out loud when you write it. If it sounds odd, it's probably not what you want.

Drawing it somple like that is sometimes better than adding a lot of detail because if you made mistake not much worry, and hey have thought of making that your own style of drawing. No clothes and simple, wonkey pictures it really could work. Try it out
