Yes, I plan to buy a PS3(eventually) but I will admit that Sony blew chunks at their press conference.

Clearly editied by someone who hates sony but it made me laugh, the only game that actually looked cool on the video was the one where he was flying the ship and it moved with the controller. This thing will probably bomb.

Yeah, that would have been cool if the guy playing it hadn't looked like he was in the middle of a seizure, and if his movements actuallly translated to the game...

Didn't you see the link at the end of the clip? Wii60.com Personally I think fanboism like that is just digusting. It's idiots like that who ruins forums. They hear what they want to and then misconstrue it to make everything seem worse.

Any extreme fanboyism is annoying.
That video couldn't make me laugh though, probably because of the horrible editing. :\ I mean, bad editing wasn't the worse part... it was where they edited it. Because slicing together two different sentances from different contexts to get your desired result makes it funny, right?

I liked the video, buy Wii60? Screw the 360. It's Nintendo or nothin' as far as I'm concerned.

Lol, huge financial investment. As a sony hater, I couldn't have put it better myself.

If you're talking about the Warhawk demo, that thing looked horrible. It made the controller look prone to overcorrections. The guy barely managed to land the plane, and he was having trouble even shooting anything.
About 0.1% as refined as the Wii controls.

I haven't played either one, so I woudn't know. But then again, how would anybody who hasn't played it know?

What is the logic behind hating a company that large? You miss out on a lot.

I didn't say I know. I said it "looked horrible." The Sony PC/Warhawk demo made the controller "look prone to overcorrections." And this was being played by a Sony rep.
In the Nintendo PC, they pulled a person out of the audience (Scott Dyer) and had them use the controller to play tennis with Miyamoto and Co. It looked very intuitive, and it was being played by some random audience member.

Ha, I enjoyed that piece. Some good editing that really highlighted how bad Sony did.

Eh? Are you insane? This is horrible editing and highlighting nothing. They're taking totally unrelated sentances/words and slicing them together... how does this highlight anything?

The part with the Japanese game Genji made me laugh. The rest was pretty stupid and the whole thing was really badly put together.

Umm... yeah, that's the point. It was funny b/c he just took random bits and pieces, but them together and made fun of the system that way.
Just the first part alone, "it's requires a huge financial investment, $599 US dollars, we must take risks". Right here he did some editing to make it sound like the guy was actually saying this and the funny thing is it's so true. I almost get the feeling that you think he wants people to believe this is real? I mean of course it's a joke with random things thrown together, but they makes fun of the PS3 by making it "look like" he's saying it and showing off some bad points.
I like the whole "we're not about gimmicks" and they listed off all of their gimmicks.
Also the genji thing where they say they are about change and he cuts to the guy showing off a generic game, including the whole part about historic battles and the giant crab, that was great. Then later with the real time weapon change, haha, I thought it was pretty funny.
Also anytime you show the guy playing warhawk I can't help but laugh.
It's RIDGE RACER!

He actually wasn't randomly chosen to that fact that they picked some seat number and that person got to play. The guy who played was chosen before hand from a group of finalist. But still, he never played the system before so it still like they did.
While watching the video, all I could think about was, "Damn, that's a realistic rhino."

speaking as a non-fanboy i see it as this
1. the Wii looks and sounds ot be a very big competitor this year in the console wars and I am definately planning on purchasing one if not for the games (Zelda, Mario....) then for the new and enticing game play experience that i am expecting to come from the Wii's controller
2. the PS3's press conference did not do as well as i I am sure many people had been hoping it would, putting disapointment aside i still think that PS3 does have time to improve itself before it launches this november; lowering the price and fine tuning the mechanics of it's new controller will improve it's standing considerably and make it a must buy perhaps overturning the 360 and Wii (maybe) but this ahas yet to be seen and i am looking foward to what sony has to offer us come this november
overall both systems do look awsome, the Wii is definately going to be a must buy with what it currently is displaying and the PS3 while lacking in the hardware and price deparments has an awsome game line up not necessarily for it's launch but in the years to come with games such as Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy 12 and 13, plus many others I am lookiung foward to what is coming up in the future and will hold any serious judgement until the PS3 and Wii have both launch later on
(I apologise for any gramatical errors I have made, I suck at spelling ^_^)

Nope, Sony has little to no time left. They have to consider the lead-in in order to get the several million PS3s ready for shipping. Plus, they need to test any hardware revisions thoroughly. Maybe softare fine-tuning, yes, but system improvements seem unlikely.
As for the pricepoint, they won't reduce it. They made a big fuss about it, saying how it was cheap and everything. Sony has no option but to let it go at that price and lower it six months into the race, or take a severe PR blow, as well as a loss in credibility. (not to mention making fools of some Sony higher-ups).

I dont think it takes a genious to realise that Sony are really starting to stumble, they are loosing touch with what the gamers really want.
599 for a console is insane, how can they expect anyone to pay that? people dont want all these stupid features that 90% of people wont use, the only ones who will pay that are the Hardcore fans, the Casual gamers that have too much money to blow on gaming and the people who have the
Its funny that Sony talk innovation and bash nintendo for its gimmicky controller yet Sony copied it. What makes it so much funnier is the fact that nintendo said last year at E3 that it didnt show the controller cause they knew it would be copied.
Right now the only good thing sony has for it is the mass amounts of third party developers that are making games, yet their wont be any decent games out for a year out after the console launches.
With rumours going around that alot of 3rd party developers are ditching PS3 projects in favour off the Wii because of how E3 turned out, i think sony is in for a rude awakening.
They will learn that they cant just push all these high end technologys and expect consumers will pay the fortune for a console just cause of the Playstation label.
Has sony lost the interests off gamers? yes, in my opinion
Is sonys position as market leader wavering? maybe
Will sony leave the gaming scene? Not a chance, they have the money to buy themselves back next round, just like microsoft did to get in
