The animation is finished!

Today at 11.30 AM local time, I finished rendering the last series of images for the animation we've been working on for the past year or so. The actual animating took about half a year from a team of four (the director, myself and two animators). I started out as an animation assistant, but because I was responsible for all the backgrounds, I'll eventually get credited as a background animator as well. Not big for titles, but it's still kinda cool.

Anyways, it's 12.35 AM now and I'm on my fifth beer, so looking good. Feels kinda strange not having to think about this movie on a daily basis anymore. Luckily I've got funding for my own project for the summer, so I'll quickly replace stress over one movie with another. Think I'll allow myself to keep this weekend off though, just to empty my head before taking on a new challenge.

The premiere is planned for November i think. It all depends on when we'll get the theater we're looking for. This will probably end up touring foreign festivals, but before a Finnish release it's still too early to say. It all depends on how it's recieved here.

I don't think it will ever be screened in The States. Of course, if you're a representative of a film festival you can always make an equiry. ;)

So whats the name of this animation of yours?I'm not sure. The working title for this project was "Five sunrises left" (direct translation from the finnish title), but the producer wanted a catchier english title, so I really don't know wether they've come up with one just yet.
Thats what i was thinking, the plot, story, setting EX..It's a political satire. When money is tight in a welfare society, a social service centre is forced to compete against other public services -libraries, schools, hospitals- for some desperately needed funding. To make things worse, an army of economists have taken on the task of cutting down on the spending (eventually driving the entire service down). It all comes down to an apocalyptic competition, where all the different buildings are pulled by their workers along a huge race track.

It's all limited animation -like South Park, made in a different style of course- and it's all computer animated.
