General Purity Poll

Just curious on the overall "purity" of AAers.

I know it's not the most comprehensive poll factoring in frequency and to what extreme, but basically, only choose one if you do it fairly frequently and have future plans to continue.

Don't pick it if you've only tried it once or twice.

Tried marijuana twice--not my thing, smoked a cig once--also not my thing. In fact both of those drive me crazy (smell, flavor, asthma...).

I'm not very pure though 'cause I drink quite often... but only get drunk rarely. :)

I've smoked a couple times..it was ok but after wards the icky tarry grimey taste in your mouth is disgusting..so i didn't do it anymore..also I really don't like alcohol..it tastes icky

How frequent is "fairly frequently"?

I used to have some beers back in University, since the Engineering faculty apparently has an obsession with drinking (Yeah, we're the same people that are building your bridges and coding your next Windows *evil grin*)... But, truth be told, I hate the stuff :p.

Used to smoke marijuana, but came to the conclusion that it's only pull is the forbidden fruit -element. Now just alcohol usually accompanied with smokes.

I live in a small suburban town where is nothing to do but go a party. It's kind of like Dartmouth in the sense where there's only partying to pass the time between days. I don't drink often but I could call anyone in my grade and get something at my house in 15 min.

Alcohol, definitely. Tequila, Mexican Beer, Martinis and Guinness (plus the occasional shot of Jameson's inside a guinness), along with assorted hard liquors, are my poison of choice. My liver and I ain't talking any more, and I'm quite sure my blood is flammable.

Smoking, occassionaly. Seriously. A pack a week in the worst of cases, a pack a month is more usual for me. Pretty much only smoke to accompany people and from time to time when I need an influx of something that will calm my nerves. That usually includes alcohol, hilarity, and nicotine.

Well, I'm only sixteen right now, so I'm "straight-edge". I can't understand the appeal behind smoking, and the idea of getting drunk does not really appeal to me, so I don't intend on getting into either activity.

I'm a little interested in hallucinogens, though.

I used to only occasionally drink, but when you're drinking with friends that smoke, "give me one" tends to come out at some point. Unfortunately it came out so much, I'm now on the road to lung cancer.

Weed, bimonthly at most, and I don't really care for highs nearly as much as a nice drunken stupor, but I'll still do it when I'm super board, the opportunity arrises, and no one's around.

I voted straight edge. I do drink on occasion, but not enough to really register on 'just drinks'. After the after effects of my first (and my last) hangover, I don't plan on getting wasted anytime soon.

As for the others, smokes I cannot stand, just being around the smoke makes me weeze, and I've never seen the point in the other drugs, and considering some of the chemical ones can be rather dangerous.....

I'll drink on occasion, either because I'm at a party or just feel like drinking. Never smoked pot, that sh*t is for losers. Smoked cigarettes maybe twice in my life, don't like them. My dad smokes cigarettes and has done so since before I was born, so the smell accompanied with his constant cough kind of drives me away.

Don't really plan on trying any other drugs, but eh. Never say never, I guess.

Clean has so many definitions, but if I only took 3 beers on my birthday and never smoked some good E or flew a kite HIGH with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (LSD) then I guess I'm straight Edge or just plain clean.

I drink. I smoke, marijuana and tobacco. I actually don't really smoke bud that much anymore, because it makes me feel stupid and is also terribly expensive but, yeah, I definitely drink. I try not to drink as much as I end up drinking, but in a boring town like Louisville I'll invariably end up at a party once or twice a week and it's hard not to drink when you're at a party and everyone else is.

I drink when I have the opportinity, but I dont go out and ask 21+ year olds to buy me liquir or anything like that. Weed is fun but I dont smoke it as a hobby because I'm somewhat of an athlete and I dont want to be anymore out of shape then I already am. I would never do anything worst then marijuana.

I've smoked both cigs and the reef a few times, but not enough to keep me interested.

I see people do them and it's a waste. They sit there and giggle for a few hours. Boring.

Hard drugs frighten me and I don't know how I know so many people who do them.

Drinking, on the other hand...well, I limit myself, a few times a month at a gathering or party or whatever. No big deal since I don't usually get thrashed. I usually play watch dog to make sure no one drinks themselves incapcitated.

Not that I should do anything anyways seeing I'm quite below the age mark. But let's keep that a secret.
