Well, I'd normally only post about Manifest this time around but I've paid for the plane ticket and registration for AVCon as well (meaning I'm going), so I thought I'd post a general thread on Aussie cons here for all those thinking of doing some con touring this year.

Anyway, con season is about to start in a month or so with Animania's mini-cons springing up everywhere plus AVCon coming up on the 14th of July. Manifest has just announced the dates, with them being September 22-24.

So where are you going in Aus this year? AVCon and Manifest for me for sure!

While I know women, children and yes, most men as well, will weep at my absence, I unfortunetly will not be going to any cons this year.

* the masses weep

There's this thingy the University of Queensland does. It's a one month intensive course that formally trains you in a certificate of teaching English as a second languge and it's freaking expensive (that, and I still owe Dan about $400 for that Byron Bay trip). So no, this year I cannot bless the rest of this country with the incredible awesomeness that is me. Commiserations.

Major Tom is still alive......

I am planning on going to AVCon this year, I'm hopefully booking a weekend pass this week, if I get a free moment. Life's been busy......I may not get time this week, but I definately will be making my way down there.

As for other cons....I'd like to do Manifest again, I get to visit family at the same time, but it looks as if money gonna be too tight to go. Here's the lesson kids, if you recklessly spend you money in your youth, you're screwed when you want to move out of home.

*edit* All done and booked. I'm gonna be there. Now I just need to get a pirate hat.
