Meh.

I don't doubt there's a notable chance of it getting on X360 (after all, only MSG3 has stayed as a PS exclusive, and I believe that's because they've been focusing on wowing people with MGS4). It would make a lot of financial sense to give PS3 kiddies the happiness of showing their MGS4 to Xbox users, and once sales level, move with an improved version to the Xbox.

However, I really wouldn't care either way. MGS has been one of the most overrated series in recent videogaming history, and it has really fallen behind the competition in the stealth/action genre. Unless MSG4 really breaks the mold, chances are I won't even play it.

*What's a "meh"?

I'm gonna have to disagree. MGS doesn't exactly try to compare itself with western stealth action games. It provides a very diffirent experiance with an extremly deep storyline and over the top enemies, that's what fans like myslef yearn for. It's not aimed at realism, I assume that that is what you're looking for.

As for it coming to the 360, I don't see why not. There is only a minor difference in power and I doubt that Sony has full exclusive rights to it. But still, I beleive that Kojima feels a small bit of loyalty to the Sony brand and Sony will more than likely do something to keep the ball in their court.

Possible, yes. Likely, no.

Kojima fairly obviously isn't much of a fan of the Xbox, as seen with the sub-par version of MGS2 Substance on Xbox. Sure the game could b on 360, but it considering that the 360 is doing super poorly in Japan, it probably won't happen at all.

Agree fully, plus I don't think Sony would let the MGS4 go to another system so easily. From the people I have spoken to, MGS4 if like 75% of their reasons for want PS3.

Meh quite often displays indifference. That's the meaning I intended to give it.

I'm not specifically looking for realism at all. I just want to have fun. If that happens through realism (even loose realism, see Splinter Cell) or not is indifferent. The originality and fun factor of Metal Gear has fallen quite behind other exponents of the genre, realistic or not. MGS still feels like basically the same game as the NES version (just add pretty graphics and more items, and rudimentary use of 3D), bogged down with too much convolution in the story. I'm all for a good narrative, but the keyword is good. Metal Gear requires an obscene amount of suspension of disbelief, added to a borderline nonsensical story. I'm simply not into such pseudodeep narratives.

If you gonna give me a narrative, give me something worthwile. Metal Gear Solid uses the old used-item salesman maxim: "If you can't convince them with reason, baffle them with nonsense".

Even then, the fact that the story is needed to justify the game is detrimental to my abilities to enjoy it.

Maybe all this is why I can't bear the final fantasy series, either.

Don't think so. As I said, Metal Gear has hardly been a Sony exclusive (with the notable exception of MGS3, but then again, I believe it's because they went straight to MGS4 in a mad dash to woo people with the PS3 power). Still, it makes perfect business sense to release "exclusively" for a couple months, especially if there's a deal with Sony in place.

Market and game quality will dictate this over everything else. If the game sucks (it won't flop, no matter what happens), there will be no X360 version. If the market doesn't care for it past it's release, there won't be an X360 version. If it becomes a true hit, and people like it, there is a very high chance of an X360 version.

Wel it kind of makes sense for them to do it and I think that it would be a great Idea. I mean alot of people that have 360's are not going to buy PS3's and not many people will buy PS3's due to the high price. So they could make a whole lot money if they do it.

I think that they will release it on the 360, but only a year or two after the PS3's release, depending on certain circumstances. If the game sells like crazy on the PS3, and the PS3 gets way bette sales than the 360, they probably won't release it on the 360. This is because less people would own a 360 and there's no point in porting their franchise to the competition when they won't even make significant profits. If it's the opposite situation though, where the 360 has more sales than the very expensive PS3, then may may consider porting it over.

I don't think it'll get ported. MGS2:Substance sold horribly on Xbox1.

Can't say I'd really care too much. I'd gladly give up any future MGS games to get another Zone of the Enders. Kojima focusing on MGS so much instead of ZoE is like Blizzard wasting all their time on WoW when they ought to be making Starcraft 2.

An i'd say 6 years ago 75% of people wanted to buy a PS2 for MGS2, an look what happened there!

P.S. Raidens new Ninja suit an sword though look ace as do the new ATAT like Metal Gears.

if the 360's arn't that good in japan why don't Microsoft give Konami alot of money for them to make a 360 version of the game to boost the sales of the system?
