Well, after some thinking, I decided to start my Beck experience with the manga, then buy the anime. I bought 1st two volumes.
I've yet to read the 1st volume completely, mostly because when I opened the first two pages, they are in color, in good, shiny paper, and EXACTLY THE SAME.
I kept looking and reading the two pages, and they're the same thing. The date the teacher mentioned is the same on both pages. So now I'm thinking, "Could Tokyopop really have messed up the FIRST TWO PAGES? Is it supposed to be like this? Or did I win something?"
^^ far-fetched. But before I start my Beck experience, I just wanted you guys to know that it's just.. wierd.
*will now read*
And to actually think that i was curious in reading BECK. Tokyopop messing up to pages is UNFORGIVEABLE, i think i'll rather read Death Note and try to be surprised of the ending, or buy some Initial D despite the crappy editing, but at least they´re better than Beck, you know why? because they didnt mess up the first 2 of the pages :D

That's called a printing error, happens all the time in the book buisness, in fact, when i worked at a book store i found messed up printings all the time.
The solution is to take it back to the store and exchange it for another copy, and this isn't "UNFORGIVABLE" it was a small accident at the printer. My copy of Beck 1 is fine.

My volume of BECK was fine as well. As Zushio says, it's a printing error and one that clearly doesn't affect all printings of the book. Natsuke just got unlucky :/
And as far as I'm concerned, Tokyopop have done a very good job with the series thus far.
EDIT: Damnit, and I thought I was the master of internets sarcasm spotting.
I'll get my coat.

I think people's sarcasm-o-meters may have malfunctioned here.
As for the topic - This happens a great deal throughout alot of publications, especially on non-matte stock.
The important thing is that you got the first page twice, and then the second page, whereas in the past I have had certain pages twice, and then no subsequent page - which is bad.
You should keep it! It may be a collector's item once this series takes off.

Y'know, I tried to pull that off when my Outlaw Star collection turned out to have the same iso image on every disk [making each disk the same inside].
It doesn't work. People aren't that stupid.. at least they weren't then :)

In an age where people are dumb enough to buy any Neon Genesis Evangelion item that's thrown at them... I'm sure someone is going to see my Beck volume and be like "OOOOHHH MYYYY GOOOD! I'll give you 350 bucks for that item!"
EDIT: This manga is VERY GOOD! While it took me a while to kinda get what was going on since one certain part felt rushed and threw me off for bit, once I got what happened, I really got into it! Volume Two was even better! Can't wait for volume three! And while I'm here, I'll say thanks! If I didn't get the positive feedback I see when people mention Beck here, I probably would not have bothered. Arigato~!
