First look/ Book reviews where did they go?

When I first came on this site there was a First looks section that previewed anime still ongoing in Japan. The anime that had a first look were Monster, One Piece, Prince of Tennis, and some others. Another thing that disappeared were the book reviews which I found insightful to me because there were some books that I would have liked to pick up. So where did this section go? Why was it taken out in the first place?

Book reviews? Since when were there ever book reviews? Does that even make sense?

I know there used to be video game reviews done by LB, but it didn't make sense for AA to have video game reviews either, so they were taken down.

First looks exist, or at least they used to. They still appear in the main site FAQ, but I couldn't find any of the ones that you posted, and the only other one that I remember, Ebichu, is now finished and has a complete review.

I doubt it was my imagination, and I could have sworn Kain wrote a review on a book called The Samurai from Outer Space. These sectons were in the library not in the forums.

It was an executive decision by Kain to remove the "First Look" section, because it just wasn't getting updated. Many of the anime in that section had long since been completed, and it had been quite awhile since anyone had written one about anything new.

However, you can still get a pretty good idea of what many of the profs and fellow students think about an anime by reading the Anime forum. Nearly every new anime in a given season has a thread devoted to it. If not, and you are interested in what people think, you can always post your own asking for opinions.

That explains the first looks, but what about the anime book section?

I'm pretty sure this so called book section never existed. At least not in the 3+ years I've been coming here.

I've been coming here since AA started and I haven't seen this section.
