It's simple, your top 10 movies. Any movies you want. Hollywood, Bollywood, anime, live-action Japanese, Chinese, French, English, whatever the hell you want.
The Usual Suspects
Lord of The Rings: Return of the King
The Matrix
The Incredibles
The Untouchables
Schindler's List
Pulp Fiction
Clockwork Orange
Black Hawk Down

I can't choose, really. Here's a rough list that can be replaced by another good amount of movies at any time. Ergo, no real order. Except the first one.
Jurassic Park
The Shawshank Redemption
Downfall
Schindler's List
The Usual Suspects
The Godfather: Part II
Pulp Fiction
Dr. Strangelove
Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo
Unforgiven
Honorable mention goes to Independence Day, as it accurately portrayed how, in the midst of a global disaster, the United States would come to save everyone else's pansy ass.

It's an older (I believe) parody image off of whitehouse.org. I just saw it posted on another forum and thought it was humorous. On that note, why exactly are you telling me this?
EDIT: speling guud.
1. The Blues Brothers
2. The Godfather Part I
3. The Godfather Part II
4. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
5. Ghostbusters
6. Good Night, and Good Luck
7. The Longest Day
8. The Warriors
9. Batman Returns
10. Shawshank Redemption
Item numbers 2 & 3 are, in reality of my list, tied. Both are examples of film at its best.
Additionally, this is what I came up with off the top of my head. This list is bound to change or rearrange with a bit of deeper thought.
I cannot possibly count the number of times I've watched Blues Brothers. I've never gotten tired of that movie. Ever.
And finally, Clint Eastwood > Chuck Norris.

Lets see here, this is tough...
1)The Godfather
2)Casablanca

4)Schindler's List
5)Fargo
6)Good Fellas
7)The Right Stuff
8)Apocalyspe Now
9)Lawrence of Arabia
10)To Kill a Mockingbird
I liked the usual suspects as well, almost made my list if there werent so many good candidates. Most of the videos on my list came from the 80s and 90s, partly because those were the decades in which I was alive and I did not have much exposure to things that came out before that.

9. The Lord Of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings (the third installment had better scenes and monologues, but this one's more consistant)
10. Minority Report (saw it a billion times. still not tired of it)
In no particular order, xept for the first movie. This list will probably move around, since I'm thinking of this list pretty much on a whim (arg).

Fist of Legend is indeed one of the greatest Kung Fu movies ever made. It gets super bonus points for having a badguy that looks like M. Bison also.
But seriously, the only martial arts movie that can even hold a candle to Fist of Legend stunt wise is Ong Bok. And Ong Bok lacked in story where Fist of Legend was a fantastic tale.

1. Whisper of the Heart (best anime film)

5. Lord of the Rings (best epic/best book adaptation)

Curse you only 10...
The following is presented in no particular order, with brief comments:
The Empire Strikes Back - Unquestionably good movie, and a textbook example of how to do a sequel.
Bladerunner - Proof that books can be good movies even with most of the plot changed. The atmosphere, characters, and ideas are all top notch, as well as beautiful shots.
Casablanca - Five words: Here's lookin' at you, kid.
A Clockwork Orange - Kubrick at his best. Every shot, every sound, every line counts.
Seven Samurai/Shichinin no Samurai - Three hours and worth every second. Bonus points for circling back to the west as Magnificent Seven, completing the West steals East steals West cycle.
The Producers/Blazing Saddles - Changes based on the day. Both never fail to get me rolling with laughter. Producers may win just for "Springtime for Hitler"
Requiem for a Dream - Eloquent, powerful, and beautiful. Can't watch it more than once a year.
Donnie Darko - The spot-on acting and editing shine here, as well as the wealth of ideas.
Lifeboat - Who knew a movie with pretty much one setting could be so intense?
The Maltese Falcon - Somehow, no matter how many times I watch it, I always end up surprised.

I disagree somewhat. It's not that he acts the same in every movie, it's that almost every movie acted in, he played the courageous, nobly heroic good guy who saw injustice and fought it. Thats the role he liked to play (quickly into his acting career he became so good that he got to pretty much pick which roles he wanted) and he was perhaps one of the best at it, particulary shining in "To Kill a Mocking Bird," In which he won an academy award for best actor (Back when the academy awards meant something).

Never mind. I was wondering if there was any particular aspect about it. You don't just like a movie because it's lauded as one of the greatest films ever made. :P
The Peck/Finch role. I'm not arguing that Peck wasn't typecast - a lot of actors were/are. Occassionally an actor will be typecast into a role that he fits perfectly, though - DeNiro in Raging Bull, Wayne in The Searchers, Scott in Patton - the role he was born to play. At that point, it doesn't really matter if that actor is expanding his range in that movie or not.
Mr. Smith is an interesting choice.
Can I ask why you like it so much?
Partly because of how Stewart fit into the role. Partly because I felt it struck the right medium in Capra's ancestor worship - not as sentimental as It's a Wonderful Life, but not as cynical as Meet John Doe. Partly because it reminded me that even the most pragmatic realist have a kernel of idealism buried in there somewhere. Partly because it actually impacted my life. I felt that was enough to bump it to ten in a favorites (not best) list.
Anyways, don't read TOO much into it. I usually rank stuff in clumps, not individually. Mr. Smith was probably a smidge away from falling from the 5-10 range to the 11-15 range, and being replaced by Chinatown or His Girl Friday.

1. Harrison Bergeron
2. Slaughterhouse-Five
3. Singin' in the Rain.
4. The Prophecy.
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze.
6. Men with Brooms.
7. Any given Kevin Smith movie.
8. Forbidden Planet.
9. Ed Wood.
10. Vampires vs. Zombies.
Now, explanations!
1. Despite being based on a short story, it was a damn good adaptation. Also, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Thus, BEST EVAR. Even though it was one of those "Straight to TV" things.
2. More Vonnegut-y goodness.
3. Gene Kelly ftw.
4. Or maybe it was the Prophecy II. I don't remember. The one where Christopher Walken, as the archangel Gabriel, eats a guy's heart. Actually both of them were good. So good that they tie for fourth.
5. Up until very recently, the last movie I had seen in theaters. Not counting seeing Robocop 2 at the Drive-in. Also, Diesel. *GRUNT*. Oh, Kevin Nash, you the greatest!
6. That's right. Only a Canadian could like a movie about curling.
7. You may be wondering why this ranked under Men with Brooms and Ninja Turtles II. The answer is: I don't know, either. Also, Clerks is not included in this blanket, as I have not yet seen Clerks.
8. Robbie the Robot + Leslie Nielsen + Cheesy Special Effects = win.
9. Johnny Depp + Angora sweaters = HAWT! Or not. Oh, and Tim Burton. So, OBVIOUSLY Johnny Depp was in it.
10. This movie was only good because it was so horrendously bad. It's much like Alien vs. Predator in that there was very little Vampire-vs.-Zombie action, and it focused far too much on the characters clearly not featured in the title of the movie.
And finally, extra notes!
These movies are not necessarily ranked in order of best-to-worst or worst-to-best; they are simply arranged in a list.
Those of you who know me well may also be wondering why I have not included a single Godzilla or Gamera movie on this list, despite the B-movie quality of most of the films. Well, those series are just far too awesome to warrant inclusion on a list.

I'm just kidding. Kidding aside though, there are plenty of musicals that are better than Moulin Rouge. The only thing it has going for it is that because of new production techniques, it is flashier.
As far as the songs not being originals, singin' in the rain actually has just 1 or 2 original songs, the rest of them were popular songs from the 20s and 30s which were used for the movie since the plot is set in the time where movies were transitioning from silent films to the ones with sound included.

Since this topic has been done a million times over... ERIG... I'm going with some old/new favorite "popcorn" flicks that could just as easily go on someone else's top 10 worst movie list: :p
Underworld
UW: Evolution
Transporter 2
Kung-Fu Hustle
Rush Hour
Blade
Bloodsport
Conan the Destroyer
Red Sonya
Double Impact
Subject to change as I slowly but surely remember more good ones.

I like Roark's list :D, some awesome movies on there.
hmm... I'd say my top ten are
Rear Window
Blade Runner
Requiem for a Dream
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Memento
Pulp Fiction
Resevoir Dogs
Magnolia
American Psycho
Alien
granted there are plenty of other movies I would willingly put on this list if they came to my head first (The Maltese Falcon, The Matrix, Seven Samurai, Shawshank, Vertigo, Casablanca etc.), but there are just SO MANY good movies out there.

Keep Yuri's 3 year old topic legacy alive!
