Damn, I thought it would be the Japanese doing this. And suddenly Maximus doesn't simply kill Commodus in a sword fight but he powers up with his Ranged Attack: Phone and takes half of the colosseum with him while fighting Commodus (who has also powered up). Why he didn't use this superpower before, ie. when his family was murdered, the audience will never know.
