Anime North 2006

Hurrah, hurrah. Well, it's about that time for us Canadians to go to our anime convention. This has been the only one I've been to, since it is ridiculously close and all. So...anyone else going to this Toronto con?

I was thinking about going to Anime North with my fiancee (also another anime fan) this year. But I'm wondering how the convention is (since I've never been to one). Is it really worth going to? What kinds of stuff is there to do? And is there much anime for sale there (maybe even for a cheaper price?). Any info would really help, since I may want to secure our tickets very soon.

And yes, I've read the Anime North homepage, but I couldnt find any sections that gave very detailed info, or a sense of what it's like to be there. Do they show certain animes on huge screen tvs, projetors or theatre screens? And do the video game contests, meeting voice actors and manga artists, etc...fill up enough time to make staying there for a weekend worthwhile?

I haven't gone since 2004, but overall, I'm rather excited for this year's Anime North. Essentially, the video game tournaments are spread out throughout the entire weekend and having a hotel room ensures you get a chance for "All-Night" gaming. KOTOKO is the Japanese Music Guest of Honor and the Dealer's Room is normally good (as far as I'm concerned) especially on Sundays when stuff needs to go. I'm sure there are plenty of things to do at Anime North 2006.

Probably. This year was a lot better than last year imo. More stuff to do, better cosplay, and overall just a better experience, so I am planning to go again next year.
