I get the whole boss thing and the Delinquent factor but whats with the robots and baseball and Harkuras lakie that nobody knows his name and the guy without a shirt that eats a lage boul of raman for every meal?

lol - indeed. Trying to figure out the significance of so-and-so's afro is meaningless. It's just there. No deep, underlying messages. Although it would be amusing and kinda weird if there were.

I watched about 5 episodes, and I was done. I need more out of a title, parody is nice but not nice enough.

I made me laugh though, once or twice.

it really is just stoner anime, no point, quick jabs of funny nothing long lasting, and if you watch too much of it at one time, 4-5 eps+ then it gets annoying or boring.

I'm still torn on this one. Some of it is really really, funny (I can never get enough of Pootan), but other times it falls flat on it's face and breaks it's nose. I have one disc left to buy, but I think the final verdict is that's it's just going to be too bizarre for me to enjoy properly.

One of my biggest hang ups is that I am going to have to buy the manga to find out how he got into that school. To me, that's just lazy, or blatant product placement, or both. Things just happen......not that that's always a bad thing, but it happens constantly, and I find it difficult to follow along.

But then there is Pootan, and Freddie, they are possibly the best characters in the show.

I love it. To try and "understand it" is missing the point. It's a silly comedy. Just enjoy it. My favorite character is (I forgot his name >_>) That guy who is an online boardy but kicks people's asses in real life. Hahaha. Damn..what was his name? I need to watch that episode again..

Why bother trying to "understand" Cromartie? Just sit back and enjoy the ride. It's just mindless fun anyhow.

But at any rate, trying to understand Cromartie is pointless. It isn't meant to be understood, and they really make no effort to fill you in on anything "unnecessary" like backstories or plot. Sometimes it falls flat, but for the most part, I thought it was pretty funny.
Like I said in my review though, some people are just going to dislike it. The way the show is structured just will throw some people off.
